Android app update 8 February 2020 - v1.7.43-22

Correction, my My Sonos show off/on button and nothing else and my Echo devices just show connected.

I am still using the old Sonos DTH so that’s probably the issue. For the Echo’s it’s likely the DTH too. But they were all good before this last update.

Have you seen the History for the Sonos? All presets are parsed into the History as a single raw json. I thought some forgot to set a displayed: false.

Ha, whoops

I mean, I can see how such a subtle error like that wouldn’t be caught in testing …

:unamused:

QA/QC? Quality Assurance/Quality Control?

@Automated_House, what have you played after the Dance Monkey? Baby Shark?
Some events are not parsed in other devices, so I guess it handles everything what has a Capability defined attribute without thinking of displayed false or true. But actually it shows up all those events the same way or almost the same way in the Classic app as well. So might be a mixture.

LOL, that made me laugh, and I needed that today!

This is actually useful… I hope they provide a way to turn json mode back on if they fix it :sunglasses:

i dont like the new ui of devices, thermostat have now boring arrows instead of the nice sliding button, motion sensors dont have the animated guy anymore, it looks boring + is laggy now when scrolling inside a device on my s10
it uses to be more fancier design wise before now is just meh

More going on here too:

Lol, i complaint here, but looks like this thread is not as popular so i do the same thing there trying to let SmartThings staff aware…

With the latest update, pulling up the device details for a bulb using the gkl-sf - Osram RGBW DTH makes the app crash :frowning: I’m pretty sure it worked before the update, but it had the wrong scale for color temp.

So I’m finding that if I happen to touch the color wheel when I want to scroll up, I select a color and either turn the light on or I change it to that color. I have to be really careful not to start scrolling inside the color circle.

@blake.arnold, just got the latest update for Android. I’m not sure what’s happened, but wow is this version slower than the last one when bringing up a device. So much so that you’re almost pushing me back to Classic just for the performance benefits compared to the new app.

Also, I’ll support what others are saying with those quick controls. Put them at the bottom and put capabilities at the top. It’s stupid to have to scroll down past these quick controls to see temp/humidity, RGB controls, power consumption, etc. Quite frankly, I find those useless and I wish we can be given an option to show that panel or not.

I like some of the changes, but someone needs to deal with the word wrapping of device names and how terrible that looks.

The sliders can be easily touched to turn on the bulb too, it looks like they haven’t done any testing before rolling this out, everything is going downwards again, even the stupid toggle icon, looks like decades old design

WHAT ARE THESE TOGGLES???

THE GOOD OLD NICE TOGGLES, WHERE HAVE THEY GONE???

That’s probably custom DTH issue, not the app, like @GSzabados mentioned, it’s not going to work. Sliding to either end if that will set colour temperature to max or min temperature of the bulb

It sounds like they’re using production as their test environment and we’re all their beta testers. Maybe they should set up a true beta channel and allow us to opt in if we want to test new functionality and find bugs. Are you listening, Samsung?

I’m all for agile and rolling things out with limited functionality out quickly, but make sure it works!

My wife’s old but very usable S4 got updated a little bit ago, and I’m afraid of what’s about to happen when she uses the latest version for the first time. Holy crap it’s slow. I think I’m gonna hide her phone…

My Galaxy S2 Tablet also updated, and it’s pretty much useless right now. Besides the slowness, it’s “downloading” in several tiles, with the rest of them just having “Connected” as the only attribute/capability showing up when going into the device. Hopefully in a few hours I can start using it again…

You probably know this, but a force-stop will fix this issue.

Oh I know, as well as waiting; but a crap release none the less because nobody should have to do that.

new ui design of the sensors look so basic and ugly, like the thermostat that turned from a nice fancy slider with some small animation going on to some boring up and downs arrows or the motion sensor who had a guy animation , and scrolling got laggy inside a sensor menu
