The drivers from the Beta Channel have the same configuration as the ones in the Default channel, so, you don’t have to worry about the Beta one being out of date, they actually get updates first.
I’ll ask the team about your worries in this regard.
I’m not sure of the precedence but if you connected to the Beta channel for anything, it’s possible that the matching Beta driver was selected during auto-migration of those devices.
I’ve been using IDE only to then go check in my app. I’ve been trying to check the app to make sure everything is working ok. So far, the old IDE and app match well, but will use API too.
I’m further along in my move to Edge that I would have been if it wasn’t for the ST mass delete a few weeks ago, LOL.
I have 88 devices remaining on DTHs. I’m down to Hue and Sonos and one Qubino Flush 2 Relay.
After the challenges I went through today transitioning one device that needed to be reset, I’ll wait.
This post by Alissa Dornbos might provide some context.
So is anyone having their devices backward transitioned? I’ve got 6 zwave switches that went backwards last night? This status is being reported consistently between the old IDE and the IOs app and to the extent I can tell in the API app.
post a screenshot of the details screen for the device from API Browser+
I found one last night. I have 4 identical Sengled rgb ZigBee bulbs that were all on stock ZigBee Switch Edge drivers (added at the same time). One has reverted to a non Edge driver (no driver tab in the app). The IDE shows them all 4 still identical. We noticed because the one that switched no longer has color control, just on/off.
There may be others, not sure yet.
That driver was updated yesterday, perhaps that has something to do with it.
It could just be an app issue. I have seen multiple instances of not getting the driver shown in the app and the device details missing something. Usually after a period of time it clears-up. Not saying this is what’s happened in your case - just saying I have seen similar.
Yep, it’s back now. This was on Android.
I still have one Zooz zwave switch and 3 GE zigbee switches/dimmers on DTH since last December. All of them using generic DTH, all my custom DTH has been dropped way back. Interestingly all other Zooz and GE switches has been migrated to EDGE. Not sure what is different about these.
Hi, @homeagain
I asked the team to check the device with the ID f2287f6a-3dc3-4d60-8799-2a3e4d864810
selected in your screenshot above.
They went back in the logs and there was no evidence that this device was ever a Lua-backed device, how did you previously check it was using a driver?
These two just migrated for me - I was startled to see my DTH count drop by ten all at once after being stuck for so long, until I figured out it was really just two devices. Seamless transition, all associated routines seem to have run correctly the last evening or two after it had probably happened, but ST selected the stock ZWave switch driver rather than the Zooz Multichannel driver I had installed.
I haven’t had any devices migrate since mid-February. There are still 16 GE/Honeywell/Enbrighten Z-Wave switches/dimmers/fan controls running a stock DTH driver.
It’s a small enough number that I could just migrate manually and move forward, but after all this time following the transition, I’m curious to see what happens.
I’ve systematically been checking the IDE to confirm count that are “placeholder”, then confirm the change via the IOS app. About 3 weeks ago, I had 32 “moved” over, after this change, 6 dropped out, (and to my knowledge all were z wave switches, so the count went to 26 (I’m going off of memory for this a specific device, but checked others I recalled, changed as well). I just returned from vacation and two more have dropped out (not sure what they are yet), and several other things went offline (unclear if related or not), so I’m standing at 24 converted. I’ve been told to not mind the IDE value too much, so perhaps this is the issue, but I’m including another zwave switch screen shot of a different switch I also is currently appears to be converted via IOS app, but not showing as such in the IDE:
Ok, well, as mentioned by others, seeing the information from the API is more reliable (Todd Austin’s tool helps you to do that), the IDE could cause this kind of confusion.
In the case of the device you shared above, we can see it is using a driver because it has the fields “Driver ID” and “Driver Name” which a DTH cannot have.
However, if you see a device is “dropped out” (which I think you mean that goes back to the DTH), we would need the following from you:
- To submit the Hub logs as soon as possible (less than 12 hours after the issue) so the team can investigate.
- Provide support access:
- Confirm the email account registered in the forum is the same one you use for SmartThings. If not, please share it with me over DM
- Enable support access to your account:
- Go to the SmartThings Web (my.smartthings.com)
- Log in to your Samsung Account
- Select Menu (⋮) and choose Settings
- Toggle on Account Data Access
- Select the time period and confirm - In this step, please select “Until turned off”, once the team finishes, we’ll let you know so you can disable it again.
- Share the name of those devices that have the issue so we can look for their ID
Greetings,
I totally disconnected for a few months, hoping that transition will be happening in the meantime … NOT!!!
I’ve read the latest posts and still have a few questions:
-
Is there a set shutdown date for IDE as per now? Hopefully all of my devices will be transitioned to the suitable custom Edge drivers automatically, they are deployed and waiting … and waiting … and then wait some more
-
The bulk of my devices that wait to be migrated to custom drivers are Heatit Z-TRM3 thermostats.
However, what worries me is why none of my devices that have or should have stock drivers are not transitioned yet? By this I mean quite generic Zigbee and Z-wave dimmers?
See from IDE:
If you currently use a custom Groovy handler I am not sure that migration to Edge will be automatic.
Please see this thread for information on Heatit Z-TRM3:
