I switched over to ST’s Edge drivers for Sonos and Philips Hue so the End of Groovy has arrived for me.

Automatically or did you do the steps by deleting the devices and reinstalling them in Edge? Same situation, they only send me Hue and Bose, no device from me has ever migrated by itself

Manually I switched them

Can u point me to the edge Sonos drivers ?
Thanks.

It’s in the stock beta drivers channel. Subscribe here if you haven’t already.

You may want to hold off on installing the Philips Hue Edge driver at this point.

DTH migration.
I still have about 16 devices still on dth that haven’t migrated. Some of these are IKEA bulbs, I have other IKEA bulbs which migrated ages ago.

Any ideas why they haven’t been migrated , I suspect they are all the same IKEA firmware?

Other devices are tuya temp sensors and zigbee wall switches : zemismart 2 gang and a candeo 1 gang dimmer

Be aware, the Sonos Edge driver has serious issues maintaining connectivity. SmartThings is aware, but hasn’t made any definitive progress toward a resolution.

I’m in the same boat but with Zooz and GE/Jasco devices. A dozen immigrated, same make and mostly same model as some that migrated in December or before.

No IKEA, but still 75% not migrated

3 posts were split to a new topic: GE switches stopped working (April 2023)

Migrated or not. If I go to the old Groovy IDE (graphapi), then I see that my z-wave switches are still tracked as ā€œZ-wave switch genericā€ rather than ā€œplaceholderā€ as I would expect by now.

From the UI, the device has a driver (Z-Wave Switch) from Channel ā€œSmartthings Drivers (Beta).ā€

I thus assume that my Z-WAVE switches are on Edge Drivers but why are these still in Beta? and why does the old IDE still track these as Groovy devices?

At some point (in the Fall of 2022 I believe), ST stopped ā€œfullyā€ updating the legacy IDE for devices they migrated from groovy DTH to Edge drivers. They still retain some of info for the old groovy data.

At this point, you should probably not rely on IDE in terms of Routing, data shown for migrated devices or the sunrise/sunset time info found under Weather

There is no guarantee that the IDE is being updated properly. The APIs are your best source of information in the new architecture. Use the ST CLI or the API Browser+ to check your devices.

Bottom line is you can’t trust anything you see in the old IDE. I have some devices that were showing as placeholders but have gone back to various Z-wave and ZigBee according to the IDE.

Use the API Browser.

Thanks, have been doing that.

My second question is when or if will the device driver (Z-Wave Switch) migrate from Channel ā€œSmartthings Drivers (Beta) to Smartthings Drivers (Released)?

My understanding, from what @nayelyz has said previously, is migrated devices will be on production drivers. If you have installed beta drivers yourself, those devices are not going to be moved to production drivers. I’m guessing you would have to uninstall your device, delete the beta driver, and then reinstall the device to get a production driver. I’ve never seen a production channel invite posted anywhere that would allow you to install a production driver and then switch over.

I’ve avoided installing any Beta channels.

Once a device has been moved to an Edge driver, you can easily change the driver to any one that matches. I’m not sure how or if you can distinguish between the Beta and Released but assume it’s possible.

In the app, on the device’s page, tap the three dot icon and select Driver. Tap the Select Different Driver button. If any drivers match the device fingerprint, you’ll be able to change.

This can’t be right

I didn’t install the beta driver, this was done for me by the Smartthings folks. I know that because some of the switches are buried in my pantry and I would have remembered crawling on my hands and knees to reset the device.

@nayelyz, is there a plan to publish the released driver so that I can simply Tap the Select Different Driver option?
