I was messing around with phones yesterday. I discovered that the location toggle in the app isn’t updating reliably when used. It is necessary to back out of the page and open it again.
Bizarrely I ended up with three presence sensors set up for the same phone. It was like every click on the toggle while it was still incorrectly reporting ‘off’ had created a new one.
I also found that if I clicked on the toggle three times while it was reporting ‘on’ it then went to ‘off’.
Bizarre.
The geonames are equally odd. One phone is correctly mapping coordinates to and from names. The other isn’t, meaning search is also broken. This has been an intermittent problem for a very long time now. I wonder if it is significant that the Samsung is the one working.
Matter commissioning is also hit and miss with Samsung phones being far more reliable.
Same for me tiles are updated again, but like you contact sensor statuses are still missing, and I don’t see contact statuses being selectable anymore on "status to show"settings
On another app related note, I’ve been using Smart lighting for some simple tasks largely because it provides some test input for a private app. That’ll have to change unless it gets some more attention. It’s an app of last resort now.
I recently moved some smart plugs around after yet more Tradfri failures. Putting Smart lighting back together was a nightmare as the individual automations kept appearing and disappearing from the listing so you couldn’t edit them to fix them (if you knew they were broken as although the resulting rules are disabled the app doesn’t tell you). Now suddenly the whole app seems to get disabled if any of the individual automations are no longer viable but you aren’t told why. It is a mess, which is a shame as Recipes seem quite attractive.
Update: Today I created replacement Rules for my remaining live Smart lighting automations. I then started deleting them. There were about ten. I would delete one and two would disappear from the listing. After about five deletes all ten were gone. Later I added a test automation to give my app something to find. I was editing it just now but I was getting an error saving the changes. After about three goes the automation just vanished. That is one badly messed up plugin app.
