“…this may be because of multiple set ups of the same device with WU. I cannot remove anything from their end, so I would shoot them an email to see if they can see anything there. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.”
I guess I will be reaching out to Weather Underground next.
I’ll report back…
What does multiple set ups of the same device mean? Does that mean because we are all using Bloomsky, or that people have multiple Boomsky devices. That seems like something Bloomsky needs to work out with WU.
My guess is that most people upload a webcam from their own IP to WU, so it isn’t a big deal. Bloomsky is uploading the webcams to their site and then ftping all those images to WU. It probably looks like spam to WU. Bloomsky and WU most likely need to work something out
any response? mine just started doing this today and it has not reported temperature in a few hours I got an email that my station stopped reporting this morning
thats what i had as well, I went to the bloomsky wug setup page and just clicked submit with the same settings about an hour ago and now it says its back online but is not reporting temperature and shows this:
Since I’m new here, I can’t be sure, but if you’re talking about using the BloomSky weather station Device Handler and the BloomSky (Connect) SmartApp from @slagle I think you should go to the main BloomSky thread…
(i.e. this thread seems like it’s meant as a place to discuss the integration between BloomSky weather stations and Weather Underground)
Yep. A lot of us seem to be getting these messages quite often.
In some cases, it’s simply a matter of poor WiFi connectivity. One place I support gets this pretty much every day, because their BloomSky is too far away from their wimpy WiFi router. I need to put in a WiFi extender for them.
In other cases though (like my house), the BloomSky gets plenty of WiFi, and we still get these messages once in a while. In those cases, it’s almost certainly coming from something goofy happening at the level of the integration between the BloomSky servers and the Weather Underground servers (nothing we can do about it).
In this case this morning, since so many of us reported it, and since it came back up for all (most?) of us as you noticed, I’m going with BloomSky-to-WeatherUnderground-Integration as the problem, and not something on our end.
