BloomSky & Weather Underground

i’ll check. i dont recall at the moment, but i’ll come back and give a link or something…

Yep. I’m in the same boat.

ok, the SmartApp im talking about is in the marketplace in ST mobile app.
go into climate control. you’ll see it in the list.
it’s named ‘Weather Underground PWS Connect’.

Thanks, I’ve just added one. I’ll see how it goes.
UPDATE: It is updating just fine. (and I even linked the SmartApp to the Bloomsky temp and humidity reading!)

As I linked above, there are several reports at Bloomsky’s support that are identical to mine.

I’ve just called them and was told their servers are “having a problem talking to WU” and that they are working on it. I prodded him into making a response on their own support webpages (*); hopefully they will.

(*) their support webpage are handled by Salesforce, but if you look at the title bar on each page it says “My Company” because they’ve never updated it from the default template.

Meanwhile, thanks @sgnihttrams as that SmartApp at least means I can get the temp and humidity into a WU PWS until they get this fixed.

Can anyone tell me how to delete a camera on the Weather Underground site? and how do I get a Camera id number? or do I have to wait for it and how long?

I’ve not seen a away to delete one; from their wiki it says that if you stop uploading, they will stop listing the webcam. After you register the webcam it will appear at My WebCams, (which is the same page you register it at). The ID will be listed in the table (it looks like the ID is your username + “CAM1”, “CAM2”…). It showed up right away for me (although it took overnight for them to enable the ID on the FTP server).

@jlv Thanks for the reply. I contact there support but from what I been hearing good luck with that.

I think you need to go login here…
http://bloomsky.com/wun

Then, click the link near bottom right that says,
No longer want your device to upload to WU?
Delete a device here

The issue with Weather Underground has supposedly been fixed.

https://bloomsky.desk.com/customer/portal/questions/16180746-weather-underground-this-pws-is-not-reporting-

mine is reporting now, I’ll see tomorrow if the camera is working.
I did have to delete the device and re-add it to get it to start working.

Yup, it’s working for me now (sorry, I posted an update over there and now over here).

RESOLVED  (see UPDATE near bottom of this post)

OK, now mine is going wacky!

I have two Personal Weather Stations in my Weather Underground account.

One of them is getting weather data from BloomSky directly via the method explained in this thread.
Note: this method of getting weather data from a weather station to weather underground goes directly from the BloomSky servers to the Weather Underground servers, and doesn’t even touch the BloomSky device at all (if I’m wrong about that, please let me know. Regardless, I think my logic here still works)

The other one is getting weather data from a SmartApp in my SmartThings setup (the one available in the Marketplace within the SmartThings mobile app, named ‘Weather Underground PWS Connect’) which is getting its weather data from my BloomSky device via the BloomSky Connect SmartApp.

So, I basically have two Weather Underground Personal Weather Stations getting weather data from a single source.
One would think that, within reason (and accounting for any delay goofiness with either one), the weather data for each would be pretty close to the same.

Over time, since getting them both up and running, they have been relatively the same.

However, right now, one of my WU-PWSes is reporting the correct temp, and the other one is reporting what the temp was hours ago.

I tripple-checked everything, and there are no ‘loops’ in the mix as far as I can see.
One of them has just simply gone bonkers.

The goofy thing is that the one that is ‘malfunctioning’ isn’t even the one that is going through my SmartThings system…that one is reporting just fine…the goofy one is the one that is going directly between BloomSky and Weather Underground (as I understand it, the only thing of mine that has anything to do with that connection was when I signed in and connected it via the online mechanism described in the OP).

Of course, my next step will be to contact BloomSky (and/or Weather Underground), but does anybody have any ideas on this one?

UPDATE: Man! Now it seems to be working correctly again.
While I was troubleshooting, I tried going to the page where you can connect a BloomSky to Weather Underground, and that page wouldn’t even come up. So, I suspect it must have been related to some kind of problem on the BloomSky server end or something, because when I tried to go there again just now, it came up just fine.

%#@&!!! It’s happening again!!

Same symptoms…everything is fine on my end.

It’s showing up correctly on the BloomSky map and in the BloomSky mobile app (i.e. it is communicating with its own ‘homebase’).

It’s showing up fine in SmartThings mobile app (i.e. BloomSky-to-SmartThings integration is working just fine).

My other WU-PWS, which is getting its data from the same source (my one and only BloomSky) is showing just fine on Weather Underground (i.e. SmartThings-to-WeatherUnderground integration is working fine).

It’s just the connection directly between the BloomSky servers and Weather Underground servers that’s messed up.

Still worth it for free, but it is a bit annoying. So, just reporting the goofiness when it pops up…

UPDATE: Suddenly (just a few minutes after posting the above comments), it’s mysteriously, partially working again (looks like the temp suddenly updated to a more recent temp, but it still says, “This PWS is not reporting” for this PWS in my WU account.

So, either the glitch that BloomSky is experiencing between their servers and that of Weather Underground is intermittant, or perhaps @Yongfeng_Zhang is still watching the BloomSky threads here in the SmartThings forum, and fixed it after I posted a few minutes ago. I guess we’ll see…

Now I keep getting ‘reporting error’ e-mail messages from Weather Underground.

First they send a message with subject line,
Wunderground Alert: PWS ID #STATIONID Reporting Error Detected”.

Then (usually almost immediately, and sometimes an hour or more later), they send another message with subject line,
Wunderground Alert: Your PWS ID #STATIONID is back online!”.

Also, I know someone else with one in a completely different state, and they are getting the same messages about theirs. I started getting them on March 7th, and it sounds like they started getting them on March 8th.

I know it has nothing at all to do with anything on my end (i.e. the aforementioned second PWS that’s getting weather data from exactly the same place as the one that’s malfunctioning).

So, I sent a message to BloomSky support to see if they’d be willing to share with us what’s going on with their Weather Underground integration.

I’ll keep posted here…

Anyone seen this issue uploading to WU:

421 Too many connections (2) from this IP

I set mine up a few days ago, but it looks like it has only uploaded a few images. That is the message on the bloomsky site.

Where exactly are you seeing this?

I have two connections going up to my WU account, and I’m about to add a third.
Hope this isn’t some kind of ‘thing’.

I see this on the Bloomsky page where I set up the webcam, https://wunderground-1112.appspot.com/

It has PWS Upload as Success, and there are a couple of image on WU, but it hasn’t updated in a couple of hours and the timelapse from yesterday was only three images.

Thanks.

dammit! I’m seeing same thing there now.

EDIT: I just pinged BloomSky support about it in one of my support cases open with them (regarding BloomSky-to-WU integration). I’ll report back when they respond…
