I have posted many times before about the Smartthings sensors (especially the motion sensors) but with my last two retired today, I thought it was a good time to revive this never ending struggle to keep the Smartsense sensors alive. Here is the timeline… April 2016 was the reset day… But then things got progressively worse…And after countless hours spent on beefing up network to avoid interference, adding repeaters left and right, I decided to go one by one to replace any failed zigbee devices with zwave… December 2016… Today, the last two Smartsense motion sensors have been replaced by Aeon 6 multi sensors… After replacing 20 some zigbee sensors one by one since December, I noticed one thing. SmartThings sensors failing

Sorry if this is a duplicate. I searched around and didn’t find exactly the same thing. I recently have been having only my SmartThings sensors dying. They’ve been in service for about a year without issue. A couple of months ago my motion sensor died. I tried and new battery and nothing wont even turn on. Now I have a multipurpose sensor that just died (low use / traffic window). Tried new batteries and it will turn on for a second and then go out again. These are the coin battery ones (from the V2 hub starter kit). Anyone else seeing these issues and are there any “tricks” to revive these sensors. I’d really hate to lose them. All the other sensors in my house are the IRIS ones which I haven’t had a single issue with, so I won’t probably replace the dead ST sensors with ST sensors. T…
