I know you said that the driver hasn’t needed an update but, if you are willing too. I’d love to see if you could implement the new Hue Bulbs that now allow for lower and higher Kelvin Temps (1,000k~20,000k instead of the old 2,200k~6,500k). The only place I can change the new Kelvin Temps are within the Hue App.
I deleted everything and started over with the default Philips hue driver from “Smartthings drivers (Beta)”. It works just fine. Tried deleting and then go back to this Beta driver. No changes, still doesn’t work.
So for now I miss: Rooms, Effects and Scenes. ![]()
SmartThings hubs v2 and v3 both on 58.10.
Two Hue v2 bridges both on 1.73.1973146020.
My Hue Hub is on 1.74.1974063020
And my Smartthings is (assuming the right firmware attribute) 000.059.00005
If I had to guess, the ST beta firmware has caused the issue. I am not in the hub beta program.
My Hue devices and bridge went offline at some point in the past 24 hours but I power cycled the Hue bridge and everything started working again.
I tried power cycling the Hue bridge and still not reconnecting with SmartThings. Any other ideas?
My bridges have now updated to the same. Edge driver still working for me.
Is it possible to set the hue hub into home or away mode from SmartThings? I set up a routine which I thought might work but unfortunately not.
Hi, everyone, the engineering team mentioned they saw the same error you did, they found the error with the Beta firmware and will fix it. Once we have further news, we’ll let you know.
Any more news on this? Do I understand correctly that the issue with the hue hub and all the devices showing as offline is a bug in the beta firmware?
Hi, @Andyjd86
This issue will be solved in the next Beta release. Are you part of the Beta group?
I am. Is it something that is likely soon or will it be a while yet? Our homes smart lighting has fallen apart since this happened
I don’t have information on the ETA, sorry. But, can you let me know which SmartThings hub version (V2, V3, Station, V4) are you using to see if there’s any alternative, please?
I have a v2 hub.
That feature controls your geofence, not the security modes. Using the geofence, you can trigger location based automations even if the Hue app doesn’t have your location. It’s helpful if you want to use devices that don’t have the Hue app or if you don’t want to give it location access.
I want to express my sincere gratitude for this amazing driver. It has been working flawlessly and has significantly improved my smart home setup.
I’d like to report a small bug regarding the “Switch Preset” function. I noticed that it currently only works with English scene names. When I use English names, everything is perfect, but it fails to trigger when the scene name is in Chinese.
Interestingly, the “Play Favorite” action in routines handles the exact same Chinese names without any issues. It seems like the string handling in “Switch Preset” might just need a little optimization for Chinese characters.
I was wondering if you’d be interested in fixing this small gap when you have the time? It would make the driver absolutely perfect for Chinese-speaking users.
That is good feedback. If you want to share some example names for testing, that would help.
Thanks for getting back to me!
Here are some official Philips Hue scene names in Chinese along with their English equivalents for your reference:
黄金时刻 (Golden hours)
夜间(Nighttime)
金色星辉 (Golden star)
晶莹剔透 (Crystalline)
唐人街 (Chinatown)
花朵(Blossom)
I’ve noticed the lights on this aren’t getting updated anymore if the lights are on or off if they’re turned off using the dimmer switch for example or the official app. It’s still working to turn things on.
