Although your NVR may get discovered, it won’t work with this driver - just the IP cameras themselves if they are available on your network and not wired directly to the NVR.

Which one of the devices was your NVR?: camera Portable 1, IP Cam #1, or IP Cam #2? If you’re not sure, then what is the IP address of the NVR? I can tell that way also.

“camera Portable 1” @ 192.168.27.202 is initially failing authorization for some reason. Then 10 seconds later the driver restarts, which is not right - I don’t know why that would be happening unless it’s something you did?

After the driver restarted…

“IP Cam #2” encountered an error during initialization - most likely because some info wasn’t successfully gotten during device discovery.

“Portable 1” failed to initialize again due the same authorization problem encountered before the driver restarted.

IP Cam #1 appears to be initializing without a problem, although the log ends, so I can’t tell what ultimately happened.

Be aware that you will set “HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized” and “failed with HTTP Error 401” messages , but that is often normal. This is because when the driver sends a request to the camera, it initially gets rejected and then the camera provides some authorization info which must be sent in a second attempt. In the case of the “Portable 1” camera, even the second attempt with the authorization data failed. This usually means the userid or password is incorrect.

It would be helpful to delete IPCam #2 @ 192.168.27.201 and capture a log of it being discovered.

Difficult to pin point as you should be recieving something in Tods driver

A few things to try
In the cameras settings from its own browser setup screen have you switched on Dual VCA ?

No doubt you have motion detection actually configured and working in the cameras browser based set page and not just from the NVR

Are you using HIK connect for end user and does it report motion when motion detected ?

portible 1 is the Wifi camera, its not directly connected to the NVR. Cam#1 and Cam#2 are the NVR, I didn’t think those would work, i was just checking.

Sounds good. Before you run another log, it would help to go ahead and delete the NVR devices - that way the log will be easier to follow for just the one real camera device.

How did you get your E1 Zoom to work? The ONVIF Video Camera V1.3 driver finds mine but the Info reports wrong hardware and Status says Not Responding.

I assume if it was found by the driver you enabled ONVIF in the PC client? I kind of let this go by the wayside, I never supplied Tod with any logs when my cameras would quit responding. On my own the only fix would be to delete and recreate the cameras and routines. Currently the E1 Zoom isn’t hooked to SmartThings, the 823a has been solid in SmartThings for maintaining connections but it reports motion non stop at night.

I installed the driver on my hub, and configured the settings in the ST app. What I don’t understand is how my E1 Zoom was discovered because according to the Reolink product page, the supported protocols/standards for this cam are SSL, TCP/IP, UDP, IPv4, UPnP, RTSP, SMTP, NTP, DHCP, DNS, DDNS, FTP, P2P. It’s partially functional because it has retrieved most of the cam’s networks identification information.

Fired up the laptop to check the client. E1 Zoom has ONVIF enabled by default, in fact it can’t be turned off or on unlike other cams. Attaching two pictures to show difference.

Interesting. Reolink didn’t post the correct supported protocols. I’m using the old version of the PC client and now I see the section for ONVIF. There must’ve been something misconfigured because it’s connected but doesn’t show video feed and motion isn’t detected. I wonder which setting will get the video feed working.

Have you tried your camera in the ONVIF Device Manager app? If not you, should. If it works there then we have hope. Otherwise it probably doesn’t have a sufficient ONVIF implementation.

Also make sure you have the latest firmware. There are some known problems with the earlier models.

Good suggestion, thanks. I did use the ONVIF Device Manager app to test the cam and the E1 Zoom is fully functional, both video feed and motion events are there. Even the PTZ control works in the manager app. But neither are functional on the ST app despite being connected and subscribed to events. Also double checked to make sure the cam was using the latest firmware. Do you see something in my settings which isn’t correctly configured?

Dual VCA is found in the cameras web page settings

System > System settings > right hand pane… VCA resource or similar

In motion detection settings on camera web page, is Notify surveillance system ticked and saved in the linkeage method for motion ?

These may seem obvious but on older Hik hardware using the NVR to configure cameras not all settings saved well on the cameras, there was often a difference

Set your Video Stream Selection to Sub Stream, and your Motion Rule Selection to RuleEngine/CellMotionDetector. Event Subscription should also be left to “Base” but it isn’t used anyway (pull-point is not currently supported).

After saving the above values, tap the Refresh button and see if that helps get things going.

If not, the next step would be to run some driver logs with the CLI so I can see what might be happening.

EDIT: Are there any special characters in your userid or password? That could possibly prevent the video streaming from working.

OK, changed those settings and now motion is being detected but there still isn’t a live video stream window in the ST app.

Did you create a camera group and add the camera device to it? That is the only way to get streaming video in the SmartThings app.

You have to have at least 2 camera devices to create a group. If you have just one, you’ll need to create a virtual camera device. You can use my vEdge Creator driver if needed.
