SmartApps Smart lighting stopped working

I’ve been using smart lighting for years to automate some simple stuff like having lights turn on and off based off of motion.
In the past week or so it started to not work very well and in the past 2 days I’ve noticed that it’s just straight up does not work.
If I go look at my smart lighting the setup is still perfect. If I look at the motion sensor I can see motion is detected and the lights are just not turning on.

Anyone else seeing this behavior?
Any ideas?

Funny story, the lights just turned on, 5 minutes late. It says motion was detected 5 minutes.

I have to have been using the Smart Lighting feature for basic lighting needs. Mine is and has been working well with no issues.

SmartLighting is most certainly NOT working. If you think that it is working it is because previously entered SL routines are still running… but try and edit an existing routine or add a new one and you will see the problem.

The SL app sits a spins forever.

I just did a minor edit (changed the end time) of one of my Smart lighting routines. It seems to have saved no problem.

Does location matter? I’m in Canada.

The SL ‘app’ seems to be working fine for me (Android app, UK) and it allowed me to create a rule which worked correctly. I thought it was perhaps spinning a little more than I recall, but I haven’t used it for a while.

Smart lighting has not worked properly for me in the US for several months.

  1. I can’t open, create or edit anything
  2. automations continue to run
  3. I can enabled, disable, and delete using the AWA.

Ditto that behavior here.

Hmm, it’s working for me in Canada, and @orangebucket in the UK, but not @Paul_Oliver in the US. Are we sure this isn’t an anti-tariff plot by someone? :wink:

But seriously, I just successfully created and saved a new SL routine in my SmartThings for Android. It should run tonight. I’ll check the light history in the morning to see if it turned it on and off and report back.

I’m in the U.S. and SL is working just fine.

Well, my test smart lighting routine ran fine last night. So adding a new routine and executing it seems to work fine.

I went old school and unplugged my SmartThings Hub and plugged it back in and now everything is working fine.
“Have you tried turning it off and on again” - somehow, it’s always the right answer

Nope - I wouldn’t mark the turn it off and turn it back on again as a solution. It most definitely does not solve my problem. Like I said, I haven’t been able to edit or add a smart lighting routine for months, but the ones that exist work fine.

I’m in the US (west coast) in case it’s location based.
