[RELEASE] Stelpro releases its Maestro Line-Voltage Thermostat: The SMT402

I see.
Well, you may be right.
No compatibility test were made between the Smart Connect Home and the SMT402, so I will not argue that it should work.
However, I would have expected it to work unless the Smart Connect Home is very different from a V2 hub regarding the zigbee protocol.

Hi,

I’m getting an error when adding this to my smart apps:

ā€œNo signature of method: script_app_metadata_69f5dd6b_a3e2_4d8d_8ff1_7c231c09de58.metadata() is applicable for argument types: (script_app_metadata_69f5dd6b_a3e2_4d8d_8ff1_7c231c09de58$_run_closure2) values: [script_app_metadata_69f5dd6b_a3e2_4d8d_8ff1_7c231c09de58$_run_closure2@4d0bf768] Possible solutions: getMetadata(), getState(), setState(java.lang.Object), metaClass(groovy.lang.Closure)ā€

Any ideas?

Make sure you are adding the code to your custom Device Handlers, not SmartApps…

I’ve installed one and paired it with Smartthings. I can change de temperature just fine, but Configure won’t do anything. I removed it and re-added it, but still no go. Any idea?

Thanks

@gouroufui

Hi @frederixx,

When you press the Configure button, nothing should visually happen.
This button is intented to configure the thermostat with the SmartThings hub to make sure the thermostat will report its temperature, setpoint and humidity.

Usually, you won’t need to use it, but if for some reason the pairing with the thermostat was not properly completed due to some interferences, the configure button will come in handy.

Hi, do you know if at one point we will be able to have the power management available? For now the app does not handle energy or power.
Thanks

This is something that could perhaps be worked out.
However, I have no clue when this could be done.

Not sure i will keep them. I set the termostat at 21c and it was 22.5c inside and running full blast. I will probably check with their tech support, but i already have 2-3 red flags with them.

In order to keep the temperature to the set temperature, the thermostat may order sometimes to activate the heat even if the setpoint is reached. This is to prevent the temperature from dropping below the set temperature.

I get that, but isn’t that a big step? I mean it was set at 21c and running full blast (4 waves) even if it was 22.5c.

I have 3 other thermostats in that open space and none of them were activated.

Thanks

Well, it is a big step.
However, I would expect the thermostat to stop heating soon after.
It should not be running full blast for hours, but for few minutes, I would not worry.
Have you tried to switch that thermostat with one of the other 3 to see if they show the same behavior?
Maybe this thermostat is exposed to some air draft?

It was stable over the weekend so i guess it’s all good now.

Since i’m using Smartthings, i can’t use their app. Anyone can recommend a good thermostat smart app with ± the same features (schedule, outside temp, etc…)?

Thanks

Hi all,

This is to inform you that the Stelpro Maestro thermostat is now officially supported by SmartThings.

This means you no longer need to use the device handler code found in github.

The device also works with the new SmartThings app.

There may be still some issues due to the multiple platform changes.
Feel free to report them.

Enjoy!

Out of curiosity is the Maestro suppose to show up in the new app when we try to add it? Because all I can see is the Ki model. The maestro is nowhere to be found. Neither can I see it in the old app

Hi @maxiography,

Well… you are right, it seems SmartThings removed it from the choices temporarily.
It was there last week, that’s for sure.

The good news is that the SmartThings platform should still be able to recognize the device.
Try connecting your Maestro thermostat after selecting the Ki Zigbee device from the list.

Let me know if it works.
I will contact @dkirker to get more info on this issue.

Cheers!

Hi there. It did work selecting the stelpro Ki zigbee

Does the Maestro have a PID controller like the MYSA thermostat?

Yes, it does

Thank you!
