New Map View Feature (to visualize where devices are located in your home)

Hey @SmartThings

Do you have eyes on this issue?

As outlined here, 4 separate hubs/locations… 3 of my existing MapViews show fine, but lost all of the room colors, and 1 freezes off center.

Other users both before & after that post are having similar issue (see their screenshots).

Thanks!

Same problem, S22 here.

As someone else has stated it does not appear to work on my S24 Ultra. Draw room and go to create stage, runs for several minutes then gives a shape partially offscreen to bottom right. Smartthings app then hangs and has to be force closed.

Where is that option? I seem to be missing it.

See this post AND all of the posts preceding it that outline the requirements

I have tried on 2 tablets (samsung tab s6) , on my login, loaded with all the devices, i am not able to create any layout, will freeze per what is stated above by many users.

On the 2nd tab, loaded into smartthings with my wife login with zero devices, no issue at all to create layout and its fast and smooth!

Login with my account on 2nd tab, try to create layout , same issue. Freeze

@AlejandroPadilla can u check? Isit because im loaded with many devices or is there some settings that we need to make? Do assist. Thanks

Update: i invited my wife account to join my smartthings as full admin and now she also cannot generate the map view.

Apologies, I was replying back to the comment where someone was trying to import a map from their robot vacuum. Since I have the vacuum, I would love to do the same.

Hi all Mine updated to add Maps now all non smartthings devices Zigbee not showing signal and status updates

Samsung broke the Signal Strength with the newest Android update. They stopped the use of HTML and limited text to 2 lines.

Ahhh… That’s actually kind of cool. Maybe that’s the reason I want to get a robot vacuum lol.

Except the vac can only handle one floor map.

Hi @mickm , can i ask how many devices you have? i have same issue, but tried it with an account with no devices, it works. just check if the number of devices play a part on this issue

@reinaldots, @declankh, @johnrichard, i ask how many total devices (including those not selected) vs total selected for use you have? i have same issue, but tried it with an account with no devices, the map view load the layout with no issue and everything is smooth. just check if the number of devices play a part on this issue

Approximately 35.

Some are connected via Philips Hue, Philips Wiz (WiFi/Matter) and Hive (heating control) also using Alexa for voice control.

Using both Z Wave and Zigbee.

Thanks,

Mick

Thank you. I had to delete my current map you get back to that menu.

I have 131 devices listed in my.smartthings.com but there are a good chunk of these that are virtual devices or those coming in via cloud integration (smart life, tplink etc)

In my case: Updated the app and got the new icon. My problem is that I upload my house plant and the app get’s stuck at “Creating Layout”

I’ve tried several times, but always the same result…

@Tin_Hwee_Wang

I have approximately 150 devices (wifi Matter, zigbee) listed in my.smartthings.com.

I cleared the cache and forced the app ST to stop, it didn’t solve this Map View problem.
