I’m having the exact same issue. Map view was just added in Canada as well.
Came here to say, same here, me too. I’ve tried all three ways to create a map. After some time I get a view like this and the app is frozen. Phone is s24 ultra, so don’t think it’s memory issue.
Further: I’ve just tried both clear cache and clear data on the app and it’s made zero difference.
Similar behavior to above, but success on some SmartThings Locations; While Colors missing from some Locations; and One Location acting exactly as above.
Woke up this morning to SmartThings Android Updated to v1.8.13.22
Four Locations (separate hubs & locations); All with pre-existing Map Views; All with separate colors chosen for each room:
- 1 of 4 Hub v52.11 has the Original Colors that I selected
- 2 of 4 Hub v52.11 and Hub v51.02 have Black & White in all rooms
- 1 of 4 Hub v52.11 didn’t seem to want to load: Spinning Circle “Opening Map View”; Then view was off-center and Black & White.
Steps without success to date to get 1 to load
- Power-cycled phone: “Opening Map View” just spins
- Waited 4.5 minutes for it to finally load; App is frozen (can’t back out); Had to force close SmartThings App
- When it loaded, it was Black & White; Devices were not displaying; Could not see entire layout (as other users have posted prior to this)
- Exited; Loaded again; Waited 4.5 minutes; Loaded but still off-center; App is frozen (can’t back out); Had to force close SmartThings App
- Cleared SmartThings App Cache
- Did not clear data but Thanks @Declankh for your test clearing data
- Cleared SmartThings Framework Cache
Im in Asia, can confirm anyone seen the new feature? Apps updated but do not see the new map feature yet
The app ver is 1.8.12.21
Thanks
I have it on my updated (Android) app in Australia. Came through last night. Will have a play with it today.
In Australia here with app version 1.8.12.21 and latest firmware hub version 52.11 on a Samsung A73, still no map feature.
@RebelMagpie What is the app version? Thanks
Updated to 1.18.13.22. App icon is now blue with white symbol, reversed from previous logo.
Both my hubs are now on 52.00011
Samsung Z-fold 5, if that is relevant
What is robot cleaner ?
Got the app update too, the hub update (everything works, fingers crossed) and tried the map feature but don’t really understood how to assign rooms drawn by hand to actual rooms (I could drag the rooms, but then why the option to draw them?).
Edit: Oh, forget it, you drag them in the next step, not before when the rooms are squares. Well, actually I like it! A bit slow to start and probably won’t use it much but looks nice!
It’s certainly a time soak. Very fiddly to adjust things on a phone screen. I ended up running the ST app through WSA on my Surface Pro and using a mouse to fine tune things. Much easier.
The result looks pretty impressive.
I can’t imagine using it to control things though. Could be cool if you could get ST to run on something like a Echo Show 15 mounted to a wall.
Thanks not sure why the playstore is not showing the latest app. Anyway i went to download this version on other playstore and install it and the map view is available now.
Same issue. @AlejandroPadilla is there a bug?
I just saw it on my app (Canada, pixel 8). However I cannot get any version of creating a map to work. They all just keep spinning at “creating layout”. If I switch to different app while it’s working, when I come back it’s exited out of them map creation.
@Tin_Hwee_Wang what is exactly the issue? Unfortunately, this feature isn’t available in my region, so I can’t test it.
As far as I understand, the problem is that the map freezes at some point. Is this occurring after certain steps, or is it happening randomly
@AlejandroPadilla it happens when creating a layout , mentioned here by @reinaldots , @Declankh , @JohnRichard
Same issue for me.
Thanks
When I try to create a map with any of the three methods it takes about 4 minutes, shows a zoomed in view of a bit of it but the app freezes and I need to force close it.
