So iOS 11 is coming Sept.19. Is the ST presence sensor still an issue with beta users?

It was on beta 10. Seemed to be fine if you recently used the app, but leaving it in the background seemed to stop updating location services. Installed Golden Master today, so we’ll see how it behaves when i get home.

I’m running the iOS 11 Golden Master right now. No change in the behaviour. I just opened the ST app while away from home. It still says I’m present from Sept 11, 2017.

There has to be an ST app update to correspond to the iOS changes to fix this.

I’m on iOS 11 and my presence works pretty well. Probably 95% of the time. If for some reason when I arrive home and the garage doesn’t open, I’ll open the ST app and it will detect my presence.

There was one time last week where I was home but ST said I was not present, but that was the only time.

It’s quite a mess for me on all 11’s including GM - I don’t open the ST app much so obviously that kills the presense. Now it seems to have a backlog where when I open it - I become away then home then away and home again after a while like it’s catching up on all the changes in presense.

My wife’s 10.3.3 install is still perfect.

Can confirm this is still working properly on iOS 10.3.3.

I had sent some more support logs to the ST team regarding this and was advised to downgrade to iOS 10.3.3. I responded saying that I will continue to test and submit logs while running iOS 11 but with the OS update going live to the public on the 19th, the ST teams are surely going to be getting a lot more reports from annoyed customers.

Better nip this in the bud now ST team!

I sent logs a few from 11 but I am sure they have plenty of those. Wish I knew if there was a fix coming soon as this is quite annoying since I use it for arming my alarm.

Same here it’s really annoying.

GM build is no better.

there are multiple discussions about this on apple’s beta forum. Apple obviously knows about it.

So glad I found this thread… I installed the GM build and ever since my presence is broken. If I open the app, it will continue to work for some time, but after a period of time (shorter than a workday), the presence will stop getting updated until I open the app again.

Hopefully ST is working on an “ios11” update to their App or in contact with Apple over what’s gong on.

On GM since this morning and learned the hard way it’s broken.

@Brad_ST Any insight? iOS 11 goes live tomorrow for everybody. It’s going to get a lot louder in here with people voicing their complaints.

Just to confirm, those of you who are only seeing mobile presence work when opening the app, is the location services permission set to “Always Allow”?

yes absolutely - nothing has “changed” from my 10.3.3 setup to my 11 setup from a config standpoint.

I have location permissions set to “Always Allow” as usual. Even when I open the app it doesn’t always manually refresh properly. Like right now it says my iPhone is Present and last arrived at 5:26pm on September 15th, 2017. i’m not at home right now so it should read me as Away.

Yes - always allow.

Even opening the application and looking at the “Family” tab the presence sensor doesn’t get updated unless I switch to a different view :scream:

You’re right. I just tried this, switched to a different tab and back. Then it updated showing my iPhone departed around an hour ago, which is still not accurate though.

Are you sure it’s not just slow? When I open the app and go to family if I sit there a bit it finally updates. Just takes a bit. Moving around the app would seem unlikely to do anything.
