iOS 2.4.0 - Release Notes

Ya with all your screenshots, I’m kind of envious.

With R & D we lose D & D

I keep getting " Unable to save your favorites. Please try again later. "

Man…when is later?

Same here.

considering connecting the dots, sometimes (we have experienced) issues after “upgrades” I just want to mention that on the CoRE thread there are some anomalies cropping up. On the Osram thread lights triggering has been noted, and one account I know of started reporting an Osram light just magically turning on - started at 6:45AM MST. Not sure where the moon phase is … could blame it on that I suppose - or an disrupting upgrade possibility. I know @JDRoberts will be better than me tonight at tracking and pulling all the pieces together.

@anon36505037 So what would you like to see next in the Tablet version to make this viable for you? For SHM, would a solution to minimize SHM in the Dashboard be what you’re looking for?

Oh boy, this is something I’ve always wanted. Bravo SmartThings team!

While the new SmartThings “Favorites Dashboard” is very handy and a great convenience right within the SmartThings App; I’d say it isn’t an “alternative” since it only provides a fraction of ActionTiles’s features.

With ActionTiles you can…

  • Create an unlimited number of distinct sets of Tiles (i.e., many dashboards / Panels), and move among them via Panel links.
  • Share any such Panel with any number of specific ActionTiles Accounts with easily revokable full or view-only permission, on a Panel by Panel, user by user basis (i.e., high granularity of control).
  • Save a Copy of a Panel to modify it for different purposes or shared user.
  • Apply Themes / color schemes (a few choices now, but more options coming soon).
  • Multiple Tile sizes, laid out responsively to screen size.
  • Include some types of video streams, periodically refreshed images or GIFs, as various sized Tiles, and zoom with a tap.
  • Display the same Thing as multiple distinct views (e.g., a Contact Sensor Tile distinctly from a Temperature Value Tile even if from the same Thing).
  • Change Mode from a Tile.
  • Run Routines from either individual Routine Tiles or a Tile with a pop-up list of all Routines.
  • Mix and match Things from an unlimited number of SmartThings Locations on a single dashboard (i.e., no need to change current Location in the App to control Things attached to a second or third Hub).
  • Have optional PIN code protection on Smart Home Monitor Tile (and for other Tiles in next phase) - Coming Soon.
  • Run on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS … as long as you can run one of many compatible web browsers.
  • Experience increased security via 100% separation of smart home control vs configuration (i.e., a user with just access to ActionTiles is firewalled from the ability to add/remove Things, change Routines, add/remove/configurare SmartApps).
  • … and more.
  • Future feature ideas discussed on ActionTiles’s own Forum: ActionTiles Forum / AT Support & Ideas

ActionTiles is a partner of SmartThings. We are not in competition. ActionTiles provides different and supplemental functionality to the SmartThings App. Just like adding another smart outlet, motion sensor, or water sensor (branded SmartThings, Iris, Aeotec, Ecolink, Monoprice, etc.) to a SmartThings household adds measurable incremental value; adding ActionTiles ($23.99) is considered well worth the price for those who choose to purchase it after a 14 day free trial. AT currently has a rating of 4.3/5 Stars from surveyed Customers.

Love it. This what it should look like. Good looking UI. This will look good on an iPad up for a controller.

Any ideas on not being able to save favorites? Doesn’t matter if I try to add one or 20, it gives me an error.

I would like the option to remove SHM from the page. I don’t use it and it’s just taking up space.

What happens if you go to your IDE web page, My Locations / location / SmartApps / Edit… And attempt to Uninstall “Smart Home Monitor”?

I don’t have it set up and haven’t. What would I need to remove to make it go away then?

I’m assuming a black hole would be created.

I am trying to setup the Dashboard and I select a favorite, and when I click done I get an error. " Unable to save favorites, try again later". It has been two days no luck. Any ideas?

First, thanks for fixing the tiny font in the MultiAttributeTile displays (when no Icon was specified).

Second: I for one actually PREFERRED the large font display for the ST Lists. That made it MUCH easier to read the numbers than the new way (it’s been Large Font for at least 2 years that I can remember). When you have several temp/humidity sensors (Ecobee remote sensors for example) in a Room or on a Floor, the old way was much more legible than the new small font.

Now, maybe the old font was too big, but the new font size is smaller than the font used for the device name. Would like to see the font size at least changed to the same as the name font size, if not back to the full size.

Pretty please???

Future feature request - Ability to select the desired tile from a sensors list of capabilities. Example - I would like to see the LUX value in the dashboard rather than motion

Yes, that definitely works. However, doing so will result in that device not being able to run as a local device on a v2 Hub (if that is important to anyone.)

The really frustrating part is that the old ST 1.x apps actually allowed you to pick which tile you wanted to be show as the main tile, without code changes. I would love to see that feature returned. I never understood why it was removed when the v2.x app was released.

I did some more testing on the dashboard favorites. I was finally able to add some items. I have ge zwave switches, WeMo switches, and ihome plugs. I can add the GE and WeMo switches, but if I try to add or include one of the ihome plugs, I get the error.

Hopefully this can help and be fixed.

@SquattingHen I am able to add my iHome plugs to the dashboard favorites. Don’t hate me

Dangit. :slightly_smiling_face:
Thought maybe I found something that would have helped. I have 5 ihome plugs and not one van be added.
