Ikea Tradfri Bulbs Disconnected and won’t Recconect

Hey there,

In the past few days my Tradfri bulbs all disconnected from the smart things app. Same with the Ikea button I have.

I removed the devices and now I can’t add them again.

Is this a known issue?

I’m sure that’s very frustrating. Which model hub do you have?

I have the Aeotec Smartthings Hub. Before this I had the v1. I’m on the latest firmware.

I turn the light bulbs 6 times and they do one blink and then a series of rapid blinks. I’m assuming it’s in pairing mode but somehow I don’t remember the 6 rapid blinks last time I paired them.

I’ve also tried bringing the bulb closer to the hub. I’ve had it inches away.

Ok, the latest firmware turned on Thread support in the V3 hub and one user reported they had to change the Zigbee channel to be able to add new devices after that. Might be worth a try.

Interesting/odd behavior after Thread firmware update on v3 hub

Some background: I have a v3 hub with a mix of Z-Wave and ZigBee devices. The ZigBee are mostly Sengled and OSRAM/Sylvania bulbs, and a generic motion sensor as well. My hub did the recent firmware update that enabled the Thread system. I was reading in another forum a comment about this that said we could check in the app that Thread was present and see info about it on our hubs. In my app, on my hub, I saw no such info even though my hub was showing the correct firmware. So, I rebooted the hub, and then in the app I could see the Thread info as reported. However, from then on my ZigBee devices (the bulbs) started behaving weird. The motion sensor went offline and I could not get it back on. My ZigBee bulbs were randomly turning on and I couldn’t turn them off from the app nor via…

All my devices were deleted but I’ve wasted hours and got most back, but no IKEA on Glendopto!! I’m really sick of Smartthings!!! Of course all my routines now need rebuilding… I’m genuinely considering leaving Smartthings! The help buttons in the app don’t work either. Anyone got a direct customer services email address for them?
