IKEA Badring

How does one connect it to the correct driver directly?

If you have installed driver in your hub, uninstall device ( delete device ) and reinstall it.

There have been problems identifying the devices, but now the problems should be fixed.

After installing the drivers, I deleted the device from Smartthings (make sure you haven’t got it linked more than once through trying to get it to work - I had!) I then relinked it to smartthings, mine then found it and identified it as Ikea Badring correctly - since then it’s worked perfectly. Good luck - have faith, I’d given up on it but it is now faultless!

Does anyone know how to turn off push notifications for this device in the smartthingsapp? I have modified the badring to be connected to my analogue doorbell but I don’t want a push notification every time the door bell is used. I just want it to silently trigger a routine.

Use Notification Settings

Hi - I’m very new at using SmartThings for non-Samsung items. Can someone please provide the link for the drivers to get the Badring leak sensors working?

Install the Zigbee Moisture Sensor Mc driver and then pair your device.

My badring sensor show up as using the “Zigbee Moisture Sensor Mc” driver, but the status does not update in smartthings automatically. I have to continuously pull down and refresh for it to change the “wet/dry” status. As such it cant be trusted as a water leak detector if I’m not home to hear the alarm.

Does it instantly update itself for you @Neil_aky ?

Update: could not get this to work , returned all 4 badring sensors to ikea.

On the other hand the valhorn motion sensors work and look great

Mine work fine. All of them. Tested

I’m having a similar issue to others here after setting things up with a new V3 hub. Under my V2 hub, both my Badring sensors worked perfectly, including alerting through SmartThings when water was detected. However, with the V3 both show "No Battery”. When tested, both will beep with exposure to water, but do not trip a SmartThings alert. Both did show a correct initial reading (Dry) when I first paired them. Putting a new alkaline battery in one didn’t help. Charging the IKEA rechargeable in the other didn’t either. (Unlike the IKEA motion sensor, I haven’t needed to use NiMH batteries in the Badrings.) I’m using the Zigbee Moisture Sensor Mc driver.

Not that it’d be useful for all the BADRING owners - but for those who just ditched them: The new Matter/Thread leak sensors KLIPPBOK do work with the standard Matter Sensor driver. [Mind that they pull a firmware update immediately, so leave them near your hub for a while before deploying them to under the sink.]

I just got a bunch on clearance. The one I already have works fine, but I can not get the new ones to work. Having the same issues as you.

I also have the same issue. The initial post seems to use an old driver from 2024. The driver I downloaded shows a different version, May 2025. Maybe the new driver is broken? Where can I get the old one @Mariano_Colmenarejo?

I just bought one at £2 and even before I install the edge driver it is recognized by smartthing as zigbee generic sensor and it works after I tested it with some water so I am not sure if a custom driver is necessary as I found it is using the driver by smartthing directly, I can see the batch number is 2525 I assume it was manufactured on week 25 of 2025, firmware version 01000007 from smartthing

Bought two of them yesterday but none of them work properly.
Both paired, using “Zigbee Moisture Sensor Mc”.
One got 0% battery after a few minutes, the other one didn’t respond at all after pairing.
Using a V3 hub.

My Badring behaves the same way. It beeps if I submerge it in water, but there’s no alert in the SmartThings app. Too bad…
