My hub just went offline right now, about 10:35 AM EST.
What is going on here? Is this going to be a constant problem? If so, I might be switching to another type of hub. I’m getting a little frustrated.
Right now I’m glad that I didn’t IFFT my Nest thermostats to the hub. Physical reset is not realistic when no one is home. Is Samsung working on a way to reset without being physically there?
I’m generally happy about Smarthings Hub V2 and show everyone who comes to my house, but come on… 3 days in a row now.
Mine was offline yesterday and a reset with the button the hub worked. However, my app still says it’s offline. I’ve killed the app and even turned off/on my phone but it still has the red “hub offline” message at the top. But I can arm it, trigger a motion sensor and get an alert. Clearly the hub is not offline. Anyone know how to get rid of the offline message in the app? Thanks!
I’ve only had my SmartThings kit for 5 days and the hub was offline 2 of those 5 days. They sent me an email the first time stating it was a problem on their side and they don’t expect it to occur again. They remained quiet the 2nd time it happened. I need to have it so I can go away and rely on it to monitor my house. Having to physically reset it daily defeats that purpose. Going to return it.
I had the same issue I had to unpower and remove one of the batteries and put batteries back in and connected to wall power and it then started showing on line. FYI if you do scan of your network (on mac I used LANScan) the company from the MAC address (1st 6 hex characters of MAC address) for smarthings hub is “Physical Graph Corporation”
Remember if you have batteries in your smarthings hub just disconnecting the A/C power will not recycle it. You have to disconnect the batteries too.
Adding my “Me Too” so I can follow this thread. I also have a V2 hub. I will give it the 1 finger salute when I get home from work, but I’m hoping that a firmware update will resolve this. Unreliable automation is more of a pain than no automation at all.
Adding a me too here as well but also a question for any of you, when my hub comes back online it aplears to perform I’m back automatically? It could be related to something thay happened while offline that manifests itself after reconnect but I am not sure. When my up came back online aroind 2am ET this morning it turned off the alarm and turned on a bunch of lights. . Could this have to do with me having the routine to perform automatically when someone arrives? So when the hub comes back online it thinks we have just arrived.
If so I can just create an armed stay routine that needs to be manually exited.
That’s exactly what’s happening to me, too. If the hub is offline for longer than your presence timeout, it will detect them as leaving/arriving when it comes back up and fire off any subscribed events.
