If it’s a regular occurrence you could try leaving logging in the ide open on a pc and see if you can capture the event that turns it on.
Bob thanks… will try leaving the IDE open on the PC… hopefully it will capture more details
In the app all i see is light turned ON at 11:38pm, turned off at 4:51am
and similar entries…
just got a notice for 18.22 upgrade, any idea what the fixes are ? thanks
I got the same emal. I too have had a zwave light randomly turn on… Smartthings support couldn’t explain it either. I was going to replace it, but haven’t yet.
Same here. I just hope they don’t reintroduce whatever broke Xiaomi devices…
The release currently going out is a very targeted bug fix to prevent the hub from going offline for extended periods of time.
For people with embedded background - the Hub has a built-in watchdog timer in case critical processes fail. We discovered a path that could cause a segfault of our main application and would therefore cause a watchdog and a reboot. Between the watchdog time and reboot time, it was possible to get up to 15 minutes of offline time.
Got the 18.22 update, but no email
Edit: email arrived 3 hrs later
Same here.
Is IDE down? All endpoints seem to be down too?
OK here (UK)
Working for me. Just updated webCoRE
Problem reported on the official status page:
Just got an email. Hub firmware update, immediately released tonight, 18.22
Will be updating shortly
Hello,
On Wednesday, August 30 we automatically updated your SmartThings Hub v2 to the latest firmware (version 18.22). We apologize that we were unable to provide advance notification of this update as we strive to alert you to updates before applying them. However, due to a critical concern regarding your Hub’s connectivity, we needed to apply the update without advance notification. Your Hub briefly experienced downtime of less than one minute as it rebooted and applied the update.
This update addresses a bug which caused Hubs to go offline for an extended period of time.
Thank you,
SmartThings Support
Most people got that update about 12 hours before I am writing this, which was about three or four hours before the outage on the status page.
I got my first email at 12:11pm CDT. That would be about 11mins after they started the roll out.
Last 3 updates, my furthest Zigbee outlet has not operated reliably for a couple of days. I’m wondering if the firmware updates affect the mesh and it must rebuild again after the update…
The Hub firmware update was completely separate from the outage and they occurred several hours apart.
Not sure if this is related… My girlfriend got home and the hub detected her and ran ‘I’m back’. This normally puts the system into disarmed / I’m home mode. This time it did not, but it did turn on the lamp and sent a push notification as usual. When she opened the front door it detected an intrusion and sounded all the sirens as it had not gone into ‘disarmed’ mode. Could this be related to the update. Support have been unable to work out why this happened
Correct. What was the outage about?
It works!
I had the same problem. Even after it finally detected my presence, it did not disarm. I manually disarmed, yet intrusion detections continued for all my motion sensors and door sensors. Thank goodness I don’t have sirons, I would have gone nuts.
