Hub does not support edge drivers?

Hi @nayelyz,

yes, I get “BadRequestError: Hub (SmartThings Hub) does not support edge drivers” using 000.045.00011 on a WV520 hub.

Hi, @zfred
Welcome to the SmartThings Community!

As this is the first time you comment here, could you provide the following info so I can report the issue:

  1. Confirm the email account registered in the forum is the same one you use for SmartThings. If not, please share it with me over DM
  2. Enable support access to your account:
  1. Go to the SmartThings Web (my.smartthings.com)
  2. Log in to your Samsung Account
  3. Select Menu (⋮) and choose Settings
  4. Toggle on Account Data Access
  5. Select the time period and confirm - In this step, please select “Until turned off”, once the team finishes, we’ll let you know so you can disable it again

Hi, @nayelyz,

thanks for the warm welcome

  1. Yes, it’s the same email for the community and my SmartThings account.
  2. Yes, it’s enabled.

Cheers
Fred

Hi community,

FYI, I was just informed by the support team that the latest firmware unfortunately broke the platform preventing Zwave and Zigbee data to be processed on my factory reset ET-WV520 hub.
This disables any of those devices to pair or work with the hub.

The engineering team is working on a fix, and as soon as I hear more, I’ll post an update here.

Hi, @zfred
Can you share the ticket number where they mentioned this to you, please?
Up to now, I haven’t heard of a general issue with the Hub firmware so I need to ask the team about this.
In the SmartThings status page, everything is showing as “operational”: https://status.smartthings.com/

Hi @nayelyz ,

yes, of course, this information was given in ticket #1460357.

And maybe the status page should be updated with more granularity. The hub still works as a Wifi hub, but the home automation is currently disabled.

I should also add that this is for a ET-WV520 hub that was factory reset.

Hi, @zfred

Following up, I checked the issue you mentioned with the engineering team and it’s not a general issue. You can identify if you’re being affected by it by checking your Hub’s information in the IDE, you will see the data of Zigbee and Zwave is missing.

Thank you for sharing this, as CS mentioned, the engineering team is already working on that and we’re checking which other issues are related to it.

After the outage yesterday: SmartThings Status - Potential Missing Devices, I have to reset everything and painfully start adding all devices including the hub to my system.

Now I run into this Error:
BadRequestError: Hub (Home Hub) does not support edge drivers

This was working before the outage with no issues. Help @nayelyz ?

Also had my hub wiped this week and getting the same error…

Hi, @DiLioPi, @samsmith2002
Can you provide support access to your accounts, please?

  1. Confirm the email account registered in the forum is the same one you use for SmartThings. If not, please share it with me over DM
  2. Enable support access to your account:
  1. Go to the SmartThings Web (my.smartthings.com)
  2. Log in to your Samsung Account
  3. Select Menu (⋮) and choose Settings
  4. Toggle on Account Data Access
  5. Select the time period and confirm - In this step, please select “Until turned off”, once the team finishes, we’ll let you know so you can disable it again.

Access provided and same email. I have reached out to Support through email as well last week. Thanks!

@samsmith2002, is the issue still happening on your side?
@DiLioPi mentioned it was solved for him, so, we want to confirm and if it’s still not working in your case, we can continue the investigation.

Yep appears to be working now!

Hi Nayelyz,
I’m now experiencing the above mentioned issue with our ET-WV525 unit and hub firmware version 000.046.00010.
The hub still works as a Wifi hub, but the home automation is gone and no devices can be added to the system.
I’ve enabled the account data access and would appreciate your support with resolving our situation as well.
Thanks.

I have exactly the same problem as ecobiax,

I cannot add sub hub. On the app it gets stuck on the adding process at 43%.

Plus is crashing my wi-fi modem.
I’ve enabled the account data access.

If you have not already… contact ST support directly. In the ST app, tap on Menu and select Contact us.

Hi, @David_Mos
I entered your account and see that you have a Wi-Fi Hub and there’s info that is empty like Zigbee and Z-Wave properties, this seems to be similar to all of those that have issues with Edge drivers.

However, I don’t know why the issue of adding a sub-hub or why it could be crashing your modem so, it could be helpful if you contacted ST Customer Support since they should have more info about the possible causes, I don’t know if it could be related, if they cannot help you, I can collect the corresponding info and open a report.

Hello,

I purchased a Hub model ET-WV520 Samsung Connect Home and I’m not very familiar with the Smartthings platform.

I’m from Brazil, but around here I didn’t find any support regarding this equipment, not even on the official channels of Samsung Brazil.

The Hub works perfectly, but I installed 2 switch modules in my house, which were recognized normally, but both are 2-channel and Smartthings recognizes only 1 channel.

Searching the internet I found that my modules can work perfectly by changing DHT type.

However, when trying to install the following edge drivers (Channel and Drivers Web UI) the following message is displayed: “BadRequestError: Hub (SmartThings Hub) does not support edge drivers”.

I would like to know how to solve this problem, if possible.

SAMSUNG Connect Home ET-WV520
Firmware: 000.027.00010
Hardware: Samsung Connect Home, US_CA
Software: WV520XXU2ASI1

@nayelyz could you help me in this case?
My hub is already released for remote access.

Thank you very much!

Danilo.

same issue now going on 4 m
plus months. been in constant contact with support with no fix, no answers NOTHING!

if that is the firmware of your hub then it is out-of-date and therefore not able to support Edge Drivers.

You should probably remove the link you posted in your thread and also the id Hub info. Only include that in a PM if prompted by a Staff member.

I recommend contacting ST support - use the ST app, tap on Menu and select Contact us.
