Hub 2 Backordered vs ships 5-7 days (AKA all shipping related posts, please)

I’m still going off what was said about Amazon orders will begin shipping this week.

I got the Amazon confirmation email at 6:29 Central on the 17th. Before the blog post was posted. I’m hoping it arrives this week, due to personal reasons ST could be very useful. I have to be away a lot.

It’s unlikely, I ordered mine before you at 2pm central time on the 17th and amazon told me today it won’t ship until the 30th, if you really want it sooner you will probably get it sooner from the st shop

What I’m hoping is that the Amazon rep didn’t the correct date. It shows on my account delivery between Oct 1-Dec 16. Which has been said to be incorrect on the ST forum.

My hub shipped! I’m a happy camper! :slight_smile:

Has anyone received their hub from Amazon or gotten a notification of shipment?

Well PayPal was reauthorized 8:47P last night and now shipping status is “ready” for mine ordered on 8/18. So at least there is progress.
Status Complete
Shipment State Ready
Total $99.00 USD

As long as “ready” equates to within the next week, it looks like it will be here “mid september” just as promised when I ordered it.

Nothing has shipped from Amazon yet. They are not killing it, right now.

Restating the latest:

  • Backordered really doesn’t mean backordered. We have the product.
  • Pre-ordered Hubs from SmartThings’s shop are shipping now and will continue to ship as we move thru the list.
  • Orders made from the SmartThings Shop today will ship in 7-14 days
  • Amazon Pre-Orders still are not shipping. You have to work with Amazon on this.
  • Orders on Amazon today, even though they show months for an ETA will likely ship in the next few weeks.
  • UPDATE: - Samsung Store: 7-14 days.

Thanks for the status update @Ben! I contacted Amazon and the CR was not able to find any ETA. I canceled the Amazon order and ordered through ST. 7-14 days is much better than “we aren’t sure.”

What happened with Amazon? According to them (last Friday) they had not even received thier shipment. Would it be faster to order over ST vs waiting for the mythical amazon order? Is their any chance they will offer some kind of rebate?

I’m going to cancel my Amazon order and order through ST now. Defeats purpose of preordering! this item isn’t even in search results on Amazon now

I agree, I don’t understand what the problem with the Amazon orders are and why no one can get an answer.

Appreciate the update, but don’t like the “you have to work with Amazon on this” bit. While I get that you can’t control their shipping, we’re still your customers and it would be nice to see you guys take a bit of ownership of the issue, find out exactly what the holdup is and flow that down to us instead of just leaving us in limbo.

I completely echo this comment! I feel like you are totally passing the buck. Especially since when I called Amazon last week and they still had not received the shipment yet. To me that seems like something out of their control at least as of last week. Anyway, as I mentioned in another post, it feels like this is totally getting downplayed and chalked up to as “oh well”. I am guessing you would have been more involved had it been ST not shipping on time. This was going to be my first time purchasing and getting into the ST community and I can tell you I am starting out with a bad taste in my mouth

Believe me we are working on it. It is just that we can only control one side. I am still hopeful it will only be a short time before things get worked out.

So is it still quicker to wait for the amazon pre-order or cancel and get through ST? I feel you guys are being pretty vague about what is going on and we aren’t getting the full story
