Honeywell RTH9580WF is ready

Nothing new, I think with all the problems with the network everyone is working on that. I hope it is soon.

There is a “Honeywell TCC Thermostat” device type in the “Add A Device” drop-down list in the IDE. I can create one but can’t configure it. I noticed it a few days ago but I don’t know how long its been there or if its related to this. Looking forward to the official release.

The only Thermostats listed re the z-wave and the Lyric which isn’t the same as the type we have. Write a request to support. Maybe it will light a fire under the developer.

Where do I go to add this? I am not currently seeing it as an option to be added.

Well it doesn’t matter if you have the RTH9580WF as it can’t be configured. I think it is for the z-wave thermostat.

@csuk Any news on the Honeywell device type and integration?

Guys I think we should stop pushing on the team to find out when it is ready. We should be happy to know that it is being worked on. It will be ready when it passes QA and it is ready to go out. I for one do not want broken integration

This isn’t a big deal asking a question, as you know many people were upset when updates were not given on many things so asking a simple question shouldn’t be a big deal. The community has gone through hell the last year and as much information they get the better.

Hey guys!

Sorry for the wait. Resources are mostly allocated to improving platform stability and reliability at the moment, so things are proceeding a little slower than we’d hoped. That being said, we’re nearing the final stages of certification and we’re hoping to make this integration available real soon!

Thanks for the update.

can u please post the link to the rth9580wf code that u are using? im having trouble in auto mode using Amazon Echo.

Hey guys!

The Honeywell TCC integration is now live in the marketplace!

However, there are a couple of outstanding issues that we’re aware of and I wanted to make sure you guys are in the know.

If you’re using Auto mode, the integration will only work with the default deadband of 3 degrees F (or 2 degrees C). If you’ve configured your deadband to be different than that, please sit tight for a little bit while we get that sorted out.

If you only have a heater or only have an AC unit, the integration as it is will not work. We’ve already made a fix and I’m almost done testing it. You can expect this fix to go out next week if everything goes well!

If you use the thermostat in Celcius, make sure your SmartThings location is also set to Celcius. Likewise for Fahrenheit. We’re aware of this bug and we’re working to fix it.

Feel free to @mention me in this thread if you have any questions or discover any bugs that should be brought to our attention!

What happened to the RTH9580WF integration that was promised on the boxes we bought? That was supposed to be at the top of the list?

So I just connected up native integration to my Honeywell wifi thermostats. It’s cloud to could and my devices appear on my home screen t
Like any other device. Very cool

Where did you find it? I don’t see it in the marketplace.

@mention I went to marketplace things and choose Climate>Thermostat>Honeywell>then I choose 9000 not my RTH 9580WF so I am not sure if it is working or not. I know it changes the temp up or down, but not sure how to change from heat to cool, I guess tap heat button. And I guess the Fan can be changed by the fan button. I have found one major problem when you change the temp: For example my schedule says 69 degrees and I move it up 1 degree to 70 degrees it goes into permanent hold. It should be in temporary hold. I see the resume schedule, but it still should be in temporary hold and the option should be to put it in permanent hold. I have been doing climate control for 32 years and never is the thermostat put into permanent hold. The ST app should reflect the operation of the Honeywell thermostat. If you raise or lower temp on thermostat it goes into temp hold unless you click the button to make hold permanent. So the operation of ST app is oposite of what it should be.

Hmm…it’s not showing up for me, just z-wave and Lyric. @csuk do I have to do something special to see this update?

Are you running the latest version of SmartThings App?

Yes, I checked the play store and there is no update.

Maybe I didn’t explain myself better. I am referring to the SmartThings app Marketplace. On the iPhone open SmartThings App click the bottom right icon (Marketplace) Go to Things on top left then Climate Control>Thermostats>Honeywell>Then your model. I choose the 9000 as I have the RTH9580WF hoping that it was referring to the series 9000 which would include mine.
