Good Bye! Routine not working

V1 here and working fine.

Hey guys,

You may need to re-initialize the Routine. Failing that, you may need to create a new goodbye routine. That last option is nuclear but should definitely work. Please let me know if it doesn’t.

Also, the fix didn’t go live until about 4PM PST so try re-initializing the app again if you haven’t since then.

I’ve deleted the routine and started again with a new one. Will let you know how I get on today.

Tried with a completely brand new routine and its still not working unfortunately.

@slagle Is there anything additional I should be doing to get my ‘Goodbye!’ routine to work using the ‘Everybody Leaves’ smartapp? Like I say, I’ve deleted it completely and started a brand new ‘Goodbye!’ routine up and no dice… or do you mean something different when you say ‘re-intialize’?

An update on my situation since the “fix”…

Have reinitialised the “Goodbye” routine and it still didn’t work 2-3 times. The “I’m back” works automatically with presence and this auto sets to home and turns off SHM security.

So, created a brand new “Gone” routine and set it up the same as “Goodbye” (disabled the settings in Goodbye). My wife went out to the GP this morning and the new “Gone” routine actually worked?!

HOWEVER, when my wife came back to the house, ST did notice her presence monitor arrived back but it failed to automatically perform the “I’m Back!” routine this time (and therefore turn off SHM security)… she was not pleased with the 106dB siren sounding off as she came through the door…

Like I said before, the “I’m Back!” routine had been working fine all this time, it has only started failing me after setting up the new “Goodbye” routine…

I had this problem last week after installing my new Hub 2.0. Friday morning I rebooted the Hub from the Developer site, and it has worked as expected since.

(I am located in Southeast Michigan - USA)

Yup - sounds very similar to me.

My wife came home today (presence sensor) and it didn’t fire the ‘I’m Home’ routine which disables the SMH security. Luckily it’s just a push notification to my phone and not a siren!

Tried rebooting from the Developer Site yesterday and still no luck. I’m guessing it still hasn’t been fixed for UK customers?

Do you guys have delays setup?

What happens if you remove the delays?

Well without Jinx’in it, mine have been working perfectly with delays (albeit I changed them from the default of 10 minutes down to 2 minutes).

Both based on Android presence… “I’m Back!” and “GoodBye!”

Just the standard 10 minute delay. I’ll reduce that down to 5 (then 0 if that doesn’t work) and let you know how I get on. Probably will be tomorrow now because we’re both home for the evening.

Well…what do you know… it works!

Seems the thing that’s breaking things is the standard 10 minute delay. I changed it to 5 and it fired perfectly when my wife left this morning. Something to go back with the developers with @slagle?

I do have a delay. I’ll change that, test and will report back!

I’m happy to report that shortening the delay works, and the original Goodbye routine now works as advertised as well!

Another confirming that by changing the delay from the default of 10 minutes down to 5 makes the presence sensor trigger the Goodbye routine

Yep same here, making the delay 5 mins fixes it, putting it back at 10 mins and it stops working again.

This is just a random thought, but could it be that nine minutes would work and 11 minutes wouldn’t? That is can it only count up to nine? Just curious.

I’ve just set it to 9 minutes so I’ll find out tomorrow

In that case, I’ll set mine to 11 minutes and will let you guys know tomorrow sometime too!
