Hello Guys
I got this nice looking button to turn help my wife turn the ALARM with one push of a button.
The Fibaro Scene Controler (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M6CRYMR/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) Is advertize as it has 6 diffrent options.
I saw here some device handlers BUT any one can point to the working one?
Also - i am sure many has the same question - are you install the device handler first and then the device or the otherway ?
Thanks in advance guys,
There are quite a few different devices you might try for this kind of purpose:
Reviews on the Fibaro button have been mixed, both on Amazon and in this community. You can find the device type handler in the following thread,
current version: 0.9.1 - 22/01/2017
This is a device handler for the fibaro button device. The device is a simple button that can be used to control many things based on being clicked once, twice, three times, four times, five times or held down.
Install the device handler as normal in the IDE.
Registering Clicks
The device handler uses ST’s numberOfButtons attribute so should be recognised as a 5 button device in most ST made apps, if not it will default to 4… which isnt so bad. Just use each button number in place of the number of clicks that you want to use. For e.g. button 3 pressed = Fibaro button clicked 3 times
Special integration with CoRE
I have made a special integration with CoRE, so that you can use this device to it’s full potential. See below, it should be self explanat…
and also read about other community members’ experiences with it:
Hello,
Just received my new fibaro button today but i was unable to find any device handler. For it.
Anyone using this device already?
It looks great and theoretically you can do up to 6 scenes with just one button.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards,
Like all Z wave devices, you have to make sure to get the one whose frequency exactly matches your hub, either US or UK.
As far as installing the device type handler, you can do it in either order. See the following:
The original FAQ information in this thread refers to the original smartthings architecture, which was in place through the end of 2022 and a little beyond. Custom code was written in the groovy programming language and ran in the smartthings cloud.
As of May 2023, you can no longer add new Groovy DTH‘s or smartapps to your smartthings account. So if you came here because of a link in an old forum thread, or on another site, I’m afraid the Groovy information is no longer usable.
All of this was replaced by a new architecture. Cloud to cloud integrations use the smartthings API. Hub connected devices, mostly Zigbee and zwave, now use “Edge Drivers,” written in the LUA programming language. Here’s the official announcement on those:
The process for using a custom Edge Driver in the new …
