Eight Sleep Smart Mattress Cover (formerly called Luna Sleep)

That’s too bad. I was really hoping they would have IFTTT set up by now. Maybe email them and ask when it will be ready??

At least you have the heated pad if it gets cold…

They sent an email promising ST integration. Was that false?

I believe that it’s still in the works…here’s what they said when I asked…

Hi Terry,

Great question. We are finalizing the IFTTT now and we plan to roll it out in early October. IFTTT is our main integration focus right now because it provides the most utility to the Eight community. Once it’s ready, we will shift our focus to the API and native integrations like Nest and SmartThings.

Cheers,
Jake

As an aside, I firmly believe that Jake is wearing khakis.

In other words, Smartthings support is probably never going to happen.

Sadly, this.

This is super freaking annoying since they literally wrote this up. BUT they say they will have an Open API so we can integrate it ourselves I guess.

For those that have received product, what’s it like? I mean, I know there’s no integration yet, but how is the unit itself?

Yes, please. I won’t get my unit until October and I’m very curious to hear your findings.

I have been in contact with them now off and on now for almost a year. At one point, their web site said that it was both HomeKit and HealthKit compatible. But now after looking at the site again, I find no mention of HomeKit. Does anyone know for sure if it does? They claim that the price of $249 (Queen) will go up by a $100 on Sept 17. I guess I’d like to know if what they are saying about the tech is just BS or not before I commit.

how do you know you get yours in oct?

After their last update, I wasn’t sure that it sounded like they were still on schedule. So I emailed them, and they got back to me. They said they looked up my order and said that it was still on track for October delivery. As to whether that happens, who knows. But I’m cautiously hopeful.

Thanks for the reminder

The price stayed the same, but hoping that mine ships soon

Sorry if I missed it or forgot, but has anybody here actually gotten and tested one of these yet?

Just got mine today. Looks great just connected it to wifi, will test, can anyone connect it SmartThings?

There is no official or unofficial integration at this time. If Eight has an IFTTT channel, you might be able to do something through that.

Just got mine today. Packaging is fantastic, and the cover itself seems fairly nice. A little small (About an inch on each side) for my (slightly oversized) queen memory foam, but it does warm nicely, and I can’t feel it under the sheets. Haven’t slept on it yet to really have an idea.

Sadly still no ST or IFTTT integration.

On Sept 13th, they sent out “upcoming IFTTT channel with product integrations to launch in the coming weeks” so hopefully we’re looking at things soon.

They have mentioned an official API is nearing completion (But who knows how soon is soon), so hopefully either they, or the community here, can get a smartapp put together to get this thing working.

Just received mine today, also.

Having had it for a few days now, a slight review:

Still no integration bits. Sad on this, but its coming, soon, supposedly.

However, the mattress pad itself is fantastically comfortable, and the heating in particular is far more comfortable than I expected it to be. Both my wife and I are sleeping better with just a little bit of heat. The heating is actually very well zoned, nothing seems to get too hot, or freeze.

The sleep tracking is spotty at times, but seems OK for general use. Has some hard times detecting when I wake up occasionally through the night. Overall no worse than any other sleep tracking (using phone / watch accelerometer for example). They’ve promised to improve on this, and actually promised that it’ll “learn” your sleep patterns, and give better tracking results itself.

I’d like more data than they give (They give a very basic chart, but I believe they actually do heart rate / breathing monitoring and recording), but even in the past week, they’ve updated the app twice, with more accurate data, and more info in places.
