Connection path feature in the app

What’s with the “Connection Path”? Is anyone else getting a “Could not connect to Smartthings Status”?

I hadn’t seen that but I correctly guessed exactly which of my devices would show it.

I’ve been using the Health Diagnostics for a while now and I have found that two of my Zigbee devices don’t have the zigbeeRouteInfo property present. Not just not populated, but not there at all. Those devices give that error in the mobile app.

I don’t know what it is about those two devices. I’ve certainly re-paired them and probably even reinstalled them but they won’t play.

I think I figured it out. My hub is the wifi connect version, which never got updated to support the zigbee route reporting.

@nayelyz is the plan to have all wifi users just have errors for the routing?

Hi, @Wajo357

I don’t know which option you mean. Can you please provide a screenshot?

@nayelyz, any update?

Hi, @Wajo357
Sorry for the delay, as you have a Wi-Fi Hub, we’re looking into more info about wether this type of hub correctly support this functionality or not.
Once we have more info, we’ll let you know.

Even if it could support the functionality, it’s seeming more and more likely the Wi-Fi hubs aren’t going to be getting any updates. The last update was in Jun 2024 and at 52.21, it’s 4 major releases behind the non-Wi-Fi hubs (including appliance-based ones).

Regardless, they should at least detect that it is a wifi hub and not show that section instead of have an error.
