Claimed hub cannot be reset (Get Welcome Code)

Hi great community

i hope you are doing well

again i need your great help about the welcome code. can i have it for device with following SN

sn 4000300394

Hi @gvpopov

I reviewed your Hub, and it appears as ‘CLAIMED.’ This means it is already installed on the SmartThings platform, and you won’t be able to claim it with another account. Here are some instructions to reset the Hub:

  1. Connect the Hub via ethernet
  2. Then, follow the steps to factory reset it. Here’s a link that has the instructions for different models:
Factory reset or reboot your SmartThings Hub

Hi @Itati i restarted the hub, can I have the welcome code for hub with serial number 4000300394

What a shame, I’m not sure where I’m doing it wrong. I will try it again later today. Apologize for wasting your time

Hi @Itati again i did factory reset as per link provided

can you check if it still claimed S/N 4000300394

@gvpopov
Unfortunately, the reset was not successful, and the device still has a CLAIMED status.
The engineering team has informed us that if performing the reset is not possible, it is highly likely to be a hardware issue with the device. Please try resetting it once again by following the instructions below.

If you are using batteries for the V2, you should remove them
Factory Reset (Using Ethernet Cable)

  1. Unplug the hub from power.
  2. Connect an Ethernet cable from the hub directly to your router.
  3. Press and hold the reset button on the hub.
  4. While still holding the reset button, plug the hub back into power.
  5. Continue holding the button for approximately 15–30 seconds.
  6. Release the button when the LED changes color (usually flashing yellow or red).
  7. Allow the hub to complete the reset and enter setup / pairing mode.
  8. Open the SmartThings app and set up the hub as a new device.

Hi @Itati

I followed the reset procedure; the only difference was that, before and after releasing the reset button, the LED flashed blue at a different speed. When the button was pressed, it was very fast, but after releasing it was slower. Is that an unusual behaviour?

Since you connected it using the Ethernet cable, does the LED turn blue or green?

Also, do you have access to the account where the hub was originally installed?

Hi @itati

Since it’s connected with Ethernet cable it is with solid blue LED

I don’t have access to the account.

Could you please send me a photo of the hub showing the serial number?
This is to discard we have the wrong number and once we confirm is correct, we can ask the team to delete it to see if you can claim it again.
However, its LED being blue it’s strange, it should be green.

Hi,

The hub has been removed from the system. Please try completing the normal hub installation process again through the app.

I’ve sent you the Welcome code through a DM.
