Yes, that’s right.
From support:
I’m sorry to hear this is affecting you.
The issue lies with all custom SmartApps currently that need to “Update”.
We are aware of the issue and are working on correcting it as we speak.
I will follow up with you once it’s been corrected.
From Wiki (3.3.2 External Fan)
“NOTE: This can also be configured to circulate air using the HVAC system fan if the HVAC system is not operating”
How exactly do you do this?
I used to do this before with an older ver. of Nest Manager but now I can no longer find any way to setup what triggers the n HVAC fan. and my old FAN automation was apparently lost with an upgrade.
So I received a reply back from support that it’s been fixed. Tested and now I can enable OAUTH.
I’m having problems updating to the NST Manager.
I deleted Nest Manager from mobile app, then deleted smartapps in IDE.
I then used the GITHUB integration in IDE. Then clicked on both nest manager and NST automatons in the right column. Both have OAuth enabled.
In the mobile marketplace, I selected Nest Manager 5.0.9 (no NST Manager option).
It keeps giving me a message to enter a correct email and password. Both are correct but it’s refusing to acknowledge them. The password works on the Nest standalone app and on computer to log in.
Do you have the specific error message you are getting?
Is it similar to the issue 8bitNinja was having recently?
It would be good to see IDE logs as a private message if it is not the issue above.
We do see 10s of new installs a day, including today.
As for the issue that Ninja encountered directly on IDE when trying to Enable OAuth (denial), this also occurred in other Smart Apps (EchoSistant) and that issue no longer seems to appear with whatever support did.
tpip stated that he enabled OAuth for both NST Manager and NST Automations. From what I have always understood, OAuth is only to be performed on the NST Manager, and NST Automations only needs to be Saved / Published. Could that have something to do with the issues he is encountering?
And FYI. The way the two apps display in the marketplace is correct:
NST Automations
Nest Manager (just so you know you aren’t losing your mind)
I asked the question above to Eric on whether you enabling OAuth has some sort of negative impact on this. As far as I know, the Automations don’t get OAuth enabled.
I deleted NST Automations and reinstalled without enabling OAuth.
After several more log on attempts, it finally connected. Not sure if changing the OAuth mattered or if it was just being temperamental.
I reinstalled Nest to all the routines and askAlexa. Now when I say “Alexa, ask smart things for Nest status” she replies with “I had some problems with the device you specified, want to try again?”. Before it would always give the status.
I would check everything again. Make sure that the Nest devices you are all referencing in Things are accessible. Make sure that the devices aren’t missing from those routines or the Amazon Dev side of things. Maybe your Nest device was renamed to something else previously, and now it has the default name. Prolly have to start from the top of your Alexa app to make sure something isn’t missing or referencing a different name. Great that you got NST Manager going tho.
Hello
I installed Nest manager 5.0.9. This is the first time I installed the app so it was not an upgrade. It did connect once but it never updates. I was wondering how do I debug or fix it.
Is the Automation for run the HVAC fan not working?
I can not find any settings that will trigger this automation.
This is all of the settings that I see.
Does the OAuth has to be enable for both the manager and the automations apps, or just the Manager?
Also I’m having issues trying to click the ACCEPT button at “Works with nest”. Keeps on saying “Oops, we encountered an error” and “Can’t reach Nest.com”.
What could be causing this?
thanks!
oauth is only needed for the manager.
We may be experiencing token issues - @tonesto7 investigating
Mine has been working good after I was able to finally log in. The only I can’t check right now is asking Alexa to ask ST to check Nest status.
would really appreciate some help here. I uninstalled and reinstalled. it worked for few hours. when it did first time to setup eco mode during a contact sensor open, it stopped making contacts with nest. now I try to reset the login credentials. it is showing some error. “nest manager update(s) available… invalid or missing automation file. please reinstall correct automation file”. I did go to IDE and try to update, but I do have only latest files.
please help.
Tokens should be fixed now.
Been incommunicado today sorry. Thanks @E_Sch for changing out the token
