Hi, I had the problem With downloading add-ons and the fix for me was to activate the double authentication on my account, after everything worked for me.
Setting multi factor authentication doesnât fix it for me,
Iâm on pixel 4 xl and also unable to download the plugin for my TVâŠ
Same issue here on Android 11, Pixel 2. Has this really been going on since June. What the hell?
Android 11 was not officially released until September 8, 2020.
The developer preview was out in JuneâŠ

Hey,
I wanted to try and understand why it doesnât work, so enabled USB debugging & ran adb logcat.
To my surprise - download worked in this situation.
Iâm not sure if itâs a coincidence, or an actual workaround, but sharing for those who may want to try and confirm 
I can download the plugin now without changing anything, so perhaps the problem has been solved?
I know Pixels donât have the largest market share, but itâs not an insignificant portion of the market. Just because Samsung is slower to roll out their version of Android 11 doesnât mean that other phones arenât getting it.
Itâs been out of beta for over a month and still no fix. The new APIs have been final since July.
Out of curiosity, is the API causing the problem in this instance scoped storage?

This is to inform you that this is a known issue with users on Android 11 due to its recent release. Our engineers are still working to clear up issues on the Android 11 PIXEL phones. If possible, try on a non-Pixel device to access the device.
Google Pixel devices tend to have new OS versions before other Android Running Phones/Brands, and until that new OS version has been fully released to all Android Models/Brands (Samsung, Motorola, LG, etc), this can result in errors being seen in the app, despite having a âpublicâ OS.

Itâs been nearly 2 months since Android 11 was released and this still isnât fixed. 
None of the other smart home apps I use have issues with Android 11. Why does SmartThings? Also, none of my banking, social media, games, or any other app I use has issues with Android 11.
It really seems like Samsung is waiting until SAMSUNG releases Android 11 (along with their One UI bloatware) for their phones, which really sucks for everyone not using their phones.
Iâm seeing the same problem now, has anyone found a solution to this yet?
Having the same issue, tried to cast & it actually fritzed my TV out. After rebooting it said I needed an update that I canât download.
I keep getting the screen âWe need to download an add-on to help you get the most from your [device name]â. But nothing happens and the app doesnât download the addon. Is anyone else having this problem?
I am on a oneplus 8 pro btw with oxygen os 11, based on android 11.
Same here after connecting to my test service. Android 10. When clicking the device, it says this message and then nothing happens. Though the device can be switched on /off.
On the same Device , switching Android user but same Samsung account and Oath2 service, it works without the message and the device page is shown. Go figure.
