Customer Beta Release Notes

  • Reduce popcorning when controlling multiple Zigbee lights at once by using Zigbee groups

    • Popcorning refers when controlling a group of lights at once there is sometimes a visible delay before individual lights respond
    • This feature will be slowly rolled out after the release so you may not notice immediate changes
    • Used when controlling multiple Zigbee lights/switches/outlets from a rule that runs locally on the hub
      • Not currently used when controlling from a rule that runs in the cloud
    • Used when controlling a Lighting Device Group consisting of multiple Zigbee lights/switches/outlets from a rule, via voice, or from the device page in the app
      • Not currently used when controlling it from the device card in Favorites or Devices page in the app

    • FE599
    • BE369

56.10 Released 20-March-2025

  • Fixed a bug related to Multi-Hub which prevented a notification from being generated correctly

Edge Drivers

  • Cosock has been updated to return a handle when calling spawn that can be used to check if the coroutine is running or cancel a coroutine (note canceling a coroutine can only be made from a different coroutine)
  • Allow drivers to no longer sync full capability definitions to reduce memory usage.
  • Optimize handling of command batches from rules targeting multiple devices in a single driver.
  • Add support in default handlers for Zigbee power meter devices changing their ACPowerDivisor attribute
  • Fix edge case that could cause drivers to be unnecessarily restarted when the hub is under heavy load
  • Reduce duplicate messages from drivers to improve the responsiveness of important messages
  • Fix edge case causing occasional failures to configure Zigbee devices.

When will the firmware release be? I’ve been waiting on this to be resolved since October. My account says I enrolled in beta 3 years ago however I have never seen any beta release’s on my device. I’m about ready to move all my locks over to the amazon ring hub because they constantly go offline all day long.

You need to sign up to receive hub Beta firmware…. Did you go through that process as noted in the first post of this thread?

Yes and updated the hub information.

Hi, @CharlieS

We’ll check with the team if you were enrolled correctly in the program.
For this, we need the email you use to login to Centercode, if it’s different than your SmartThings account, share that email as well.
Also, please open support access to your account so we can get some information of the Hub.

  1. Confirm the email account registered in the forum is the same one you use for SmartThings. If not, please share it with me over DM
  2. Enable support access to your account:
  1. Go to the SmartThings Web (my.smartthings.com)
  2. Log in to your Samsung Account
  3. Select Menu (⋮) and choose Settings
  4. Toggle on Account Data Access
  5. Select the time period and confirm - In this step, please select “Until turned off”, once the team finishes, we’ll let you know so you can disable it again.
