Yale Connected By August question

The Yale Assure lock is now available with a module that connects it to August app. Would I also need to buy the Yale network hub?

August Kits come with the August Connect Wi-Fi Bridge

I don’t see any indication that this module has z wave support, so it may not be compatible with smartthings (except via ifttt).
The August WiFi protocol is closed and proprietary.

I inquired about this product as soon as they launched it, and this is the response I was given:

Hello ,

Thank you for reaching out to us!

We apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, the Connected by August module does not support Z-Wave nor Zigbee.

As you mentioned, the Connected by August module allows you to connect to the internet (the August Connect is required), which gives you the ability to control your lock from anywhere using the August app. It does support home automation but only through HomeKit.

Remote features include: Being able to check your door status, lock and unlock your door from anywhere and grant access to others.

Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Have a great day!

Interesting response.
Is ifttt not supported? (It is with other August locks that use the Connect.)
