Yale Access Linked Service Does Not Work with Multiple ST Locations

Some time back, Yale Access (Yale’s cloud service) added a 2FA step to its linked services login with ST. I have noticed that since that time, if you have more than one location, that when you link Yale Access to a new location within one account, the linkages to prior linked locations do not work – they just stop updating within a day or two of the new link being put into place. This was not the case prior to 2FA being implemented.

My hypothesis is with the advent of the 2FA step in the authentication/login process to create the link between ST and Yale Access, the prior linkages become de-authenticated after a new one is created.

Has anyone else run into this issue?

I realize the bulk of ST users are integrating with their Yale locks via ZigBee or Z-Wave. However, my lock management software requires cloud access to my Yales (via Yale Access) so unfortunately these forms of connecting are not viable for my use case.

if you go to Menu > Settings > Linked services in the Locations not working - is there any type of error showing such as de-authorized or something? I am wondering if you can reauthorize from there if that is the case. :man_shrugging::man_shrugging:

Good idea. No message. No anything. All linkages still show active. No errors. I’ve tried ‘refreshing’ and that does nothing. The only way to get a particular location working is to remove the linkage and then re-add it, which then makes everything prior not work.

You may want to reach out to Yale support since they own and maintain the integration.

A possible work around would be to set up 2 separate Yale accounts. One for each SmartThings location. It would be a pain if you regularly access the Yale app but if you rarely use the Yale app it could work.

Yep! Did many months ago. Could never connect with anyone associated with the integration. Frontline lock people just kept telling me to take out the batteries and factory reset my locks  Sigh

And great idea with the 2 separate Yale accounts! I had considered this but I actually have 3 locations soon to be 5. Add my lock management software (RemoteLock) can only integrate with one instance of Yale Access at a time plus I do often access the locations via the Yale app so … not a workable solution. At least for me.
