I was wondering if anyone have this Android Box
Mi Box Android TV
I would like to pick up this box to run my media but more importantly to run Smartthings for voice control. I currently have Amazon Fire TV2 but not happy with voice control. I like the Google setup better because its a lot easier and don’t have to be exact with the voice command.
Please share your opinion with this box.
Ps. I would like to know the performance if you’re running a VPN AND Harmony remote setup.
I haven’t used the Mi Box personally, but have heard that it suffers from performance issues, especially with streaming video. I have used Fire TV boxes, Apple TVs, Rokus, Chromecasts, and a few other ones, and my favorite set top box so far is the Nvidia Shield. I’ve been using it for most of this year and have yet to have a single issue with it. It’s a little bit more expensive than some of the other options though.
Nvidia is also coming out with add-on devices that act as Google Assistant inputs.
We’ve also announced a deep partnership with Nvidia where the Shield itself will be able to act as a SmartThings Hub (when used with an upcoming accessory plugged in via the USB port on the Shield).

I’d be lying if I said I knew for sure, but given that they’ve already released a new Shield this year, I would wager that they’re not looking to release another one until 2018.
