XFinity Centralite 3400: how can I set up automations for it?

I’m trying to use my XFinity Centralite 3400 with my Smartthings for home security. I got it paired but I have no idea where to go from here. I can’t seem to get/find an app to manage it, I’m having other issues with my Smartthings apps, but that’s for another discussion.

You can use it in SHM and here is an app called SHM Delay that works good in combination of your keypad and SHM(Smart Home Monitor)

How do I get that app? I am very new to Smartthings

I’ve watched YouTube and Googled it but have had no luck, the entire Smartthings platform is different to me (I know Iris)

Are you using the smartthings classic app?

I have both, it almost seems like clasic doesn’t change/see arm state, but it does change switches and see presance sensors

There are loads of things you can do with your keypad. From using it for SHM / ADT to controlling garage doors and patio doors or creating custom actions with specific codes (literally anything from locking locks, controlling switches, running routines etc).

Check out this topic for some ideas:

I’ve been having issues with my setup, maybe you can help me?

What seems to be the issue

The classic app on my tablet doesn’t read or make changes to my alarm, it says it makes a change but the new app on my phone and tablet doesn’t show the change and rules don’t change for the alarm. Other things do work, like it can control my door lock, switches and see sensor states. The classic app wont load on my phone (galaxy s7), it goes to a web address that won’t load.

I want the alarm to set when all presence sensors leave, alarm away to lock the door, then when one returns to disarm the alarm and unlock the door if within a certain time of day.

Possibly even when a sensor comes or goes unlock or lock the door regardless of the alarm. I see these options in the classic app I think but it’s not working, other then unlock when one returns, nothing else works

I do still want to set my keypad to work, I’m still very new to this and am reading and studying it as much as I can.

For some reason ST decided to make different SHM apps for the new and the Classic apps. I have no idea why, but it’s a real PAIN for everyone.
You need to pick one SHM and use it as they are not compatible with each other. If you’re using the Classic app then only use the Classic app SHM. Any changes made to the Classic app SHM will not show up in the new app.

How would you like to use the keypad? Did you check out the link I had posted above for some ideas on how to use your keypad.

I set things to happen when the alarm set, I think tried it with bott apps, and nothing happened when setting the alarm via classic app.

Can we not use presence sensors to set the alarm via new app? (and lock/unlock doors) Seeing my phone can’t get on classic at this moment.

I did look at posts on the keypad, but I’m still working on understand things, right now all I want to do is set and disarm the alarm, disarm with a pin, perhaps set with a delay and lock the door.

With the Classic app you can use a Routine (under Automations) to automatically unlock your door when a presence sensor arrives. The new app cannot do this.

I don’t understand how you’ve setup rules based in your SHM state (if I understand what you’re referring to correctly). There is no native way to execute actions based on SHM states. You will need an app like this one which can execute actions based on the SHM state: [RELEASE] SHM Routines, Notifications and Actions

Keep in mind that this only works with the Classic SHM. I would avoid using the new app for now given level of automaton and customization you’re looking at doing.

The final step would be to use your keypad to control SHM (Classic).

Is there anywhere that will walk people through to help set things up? I can’t open the clasic app on my phone, just my tablet.

Is there incompatabilaties with the classic app and certain phones? It worjs on my tablet but on my phone, regardless of how I try to log in ( new user or smartthings user) it sends to a weblink that wont load. I can copy and paste it it that can help

So I’m brand new to ST’s as well, migrating from Iris. I found out last night -after a bit of time- that iris V1 keypad is now a paperweight. Looks like online I can get the v2, v3, 3400, etc etc… LOL. All I would like is to have a keypad on the wall where if needed someone could enter a code and turn off the alarm if sounding (besides the other super basics). I would like a panic button I suppose and would like to pay 45 or so or less. So… can someone let me know what the easiest best keypad might be and I’d also like to get a siren of some sort so that my doors can chime when open/close. I am willing to download a ‘handler’ and enter some copied code, etc, however I am by no means a coder/developer. Last I messed around with that stuff was during my android phone days 10 years ago LOL. THANK YOU to all the developers and tech people helping others like me with this stuff, Thank you Thank you Thank you very much. So I need a keypad and a siren, my old v1 iris had both in one. I have a ST 3pack mesh hub system too.

Yeah sorry about your v1, it not a standard ZigBee device unfortunately.

There are lots of options for keypads, depending on your needs. A couple of quick notes:

  1. If you’re looking for a built in Siren, use the v3 IRIS keypad it the keypad with a built in 85Db siren (note that the v3 “arms” without a keycode by pressing On button directly unlike other keypads which require a 4 digit code to Arm) or the the Iris v2 keypad with a 60dB siren
  2. If you want to use AA batteries, there are three options, the Xfinity XHK1, UEI and the IRIS v3 keypads
  3. You’re looking for a reliable “chime” keypad I would recommend the Centralite keypads or the Xfinity 3400 keypad. These are the only two keypads which have a reliable hardware based chime setup.

EDIT: With the latest DTH updates, you can use the Iris v2 60dB siren and the Iris v3 85dB Siren and also the chime features in these keypads. [RELEASE] Enhanced ZigBee Keypad Device Handler - Centralite, UEI, IRIS, Xfinity, Scout - #136 by maddie

OK great, just ordered the Centralite 3400 yesterday. Does it matter if I install the device handler now vs later ? I would think not but who knows, guess you guys would  Anything else I should do whilst waiting for the keypad ? Thanks again!
