Windows Phone App Not Listing Things

I’m with you on this one. Can we at least get an estimated tome to resolve? It’s been two days that it’s been like this. Definitely not leaving a good impression for my first week using ST.

@Ben it is happening to me on IOS as well. I put in a support ticket this afternoon.

Like most things in the tech world Time to fix is unknown so asking for a time to fix is mostly pointless. No one with their right mind writes in contracts time to fix SLAs because you at any given time will have no idea what’s wrong so how can you possibly give a time to fix. and even when you find out whats wrong or some thing that might be causing it, it requires testing and a process that mostly will not be exposed to us the customer. But given that it seems ot be broken also on IOS I expect it will get more dev time than if it was us loneny windows phone users.

You might not aware how bad can it get for Windows Phone. Last time it took more than a month to fix the problem, that was last month!

ST deployed a new platform lately. This broke right around that time, I don’t know how accurate was in this cae.

If a system was working the day before and is not working now. As a customer, it is a reasonable question to ask. After all, ST is advertised as security, monitoring and automation system.

Same problem here. No things, but I can still see them in the rooms that I have created.

yep oddly the issue you all faced brought me to the platform when I saw a post about the promise to fix it…I was like fix what…what is this smartthings thing all about…still I’m sorry but I’m one of the strongest advocate of windows mobile you will probably ever meet (in the virtual sense of the word meet) but I’ve come to the understanding with my conscious that you can not any more survive on a single platform, so get more than one or have some sort of backup. If this was happening to all control platforms and the entire system was unusable for all then you would likely see a roll back of the changes. for now I’m reluctantly using my droid tablet to alter things if a mobile platform is need, be nice of course to use a pc based app…another can of worms I’m sure

@Ben Any updates on this problem? I’ve had my Smartthings setup (full home security kit, plus a bunch of added sensors/lights) for around a week. I also added a garage controller, dlink camera and looking to add 3 more lights, remotes and additional sensor or two. But, I can’t automate/configure what I have so it’s making me real hesitant on adding anything additional until this is resolved. The app not showing “Things” has persisted almost as long as I’ve had my ST setup. All in all, I’m probably around $800-1,000 invested and if this is the way things are going to operate, I’m questioning the reliability. Not to mention, the better half (wife) is going on and on about the “stupid” choice to invest in it when it broke in the first few days.

Just wondering whether this has been fixed for anyone as it still seems to be broken for me? Disappointing as I only jumped on board the ST bandwagon last week!

i have 2 phones on win10, one with redstone and the other with 10586.218, both doesn’t shows things,
Rooms are working only showing items, if you enter for example the siren the app doesn’t shows info,
Also if you want to add a room when you select the items the app crashes

Still not fixed.
My ST has been deteriorate even further today. SHM showed disarmed in the morning because of the Routine executed correctly (I checked and verified) , yet the alarm still blaring and received an intrusion notification when I stepped out of the house.

Oddly and sadly, this still hold true week after week.

We are working on this. I don’t have an update other than to say that. We know of it and are working to fix it.

Ty Ben. It u knock together £50 you could grab a crappy DROID and use it only when needed. I tend to find some smartapps won’t configuration on win10 phone but work with out issue on DROID. So it’s still worth having a cheap optional backup esp if u just dropped 800 to 1k on your setup. This is a long jorney with lots of setup and fine tuning ahead. But still let’s hope the devs at St get enough Dev time to properly sort out win10/phone issues and work towards a better app for all.

This bug is affecting some Android builds as well.

Another alternative which has just worked well for me was an android emulator (memo) on windows 10.

Ben,

Appreciate the reply here, but after 5 days this should have been fixed

Selecting “Things and Rooms” shows Empty under Things.
Rooms show the Things but selecting any Thing in the room shows Empty Screen.

SmartThings Monitor -> Security -> Next -> Next -> Alert With Siren -> Select Siren causes the App to crash.

Currently, SmartThings is really StupidThings.

Smart Stuff works 100% of the time.

Support keeps giving the same answer to problem, they do not believe that selecting the Thing in the Room still gives no access to the device.

Issue is not specific to certain users. It is impacting all users. At this moment, ST is basically Stupid Things.
ST Support is not Smart when they have no clue for over a week.

Not sure how the trusted name SAMSUNG is behind the SmartThings which is IMO currently acting like Stupid Things.

Smart Security Stuff needs to work 100% of the time. No ifs and/or buts ever!!!

I have 2 Windows phones - one on 8.1 and one on 10 - both having the same issues. App crashes on some screens and things list is empty. Definitely started with the update last week.

One more Issue:

When the “Intrusion Detected” event happens and when you view the “View Alert”, the RED “Dismiss” icon/bar is hidden under the black bar that has “Settings” and “Hello Home” icons. It is nearly impossible to perform a dismiss unless you can barely reach the edge of the RED “Dismiss” bar.

Hopefully, this issue gets fixed in the next update.

Let us make ST really Smart Things.
