What's going on with Wemo switches? Working fine for 3yrs (April 2019)

Not sure, I sold all my Wemo devices.
Too many problems.

Yeah, i only have 2 (before i switched to GE / Jasco ones), look like I need to pick up some more GE swithces to replace these wemos.

Still no solution to this? I can toggle mines from the classic app, but they don’t update status until I click refresh. On the new app, they will only turn on, but not off and there is no way to refresh to see the real state.

I’m having the same issue, but only on the homekit version of the wemo. the others still work fine.

Lots of problems for past month or more. Did anyone find resolution in 2019?

My testing suggests it is Wemo problem.

Anyone have advice?

I started using the “polling” app and run all my Wemo switches to poll every 10 mins. I initially had it pull the Wemo switches every minute, but thought that was overkill. I have the polling app installed on st classic. I can’t remember exactly, but found it in marketplace tab in the st classic app. Hope that helps.
Edit: I’ve been using the polling app for almost a year without a hitch. Wemo switches are on automations with st sensors and work without a hitch.

I was never able to find a solution to the Wemo switches. I sold them all on eBay and replaced with zwave and zigbee switches.
It’s also nice not have so much crap needing to use my wifi network.

I’ve been in contact with Wemo desk that was escalated to level-2. I was assured that Wemo native problems (inability to run it’s own rules/macros) would “likely” be resolved in next app update.

I was told that roll-out was tentatively set for two weeks ago (mid-March). Sure enough, about two weeks ago, Wemo made market announcement that new app would have major security updates and would be rolled out over next “several weeks”.

It’s been close to 6 weeks of waiting to resolve problems. Further, there is no assurance that roll-out will resolve problems.

I too am considering wholesale replacement. Any recommendations?

Wow, still? I gave up on the Wemo app years ago. Rules worked one day then not the next. Something broke every other week. Absolutely terrible product and support.

Unrelated but I had major issues with Belkin cameras years ago too. Their protocol broke AirPlay on my network (widely reported issue eventually). I couldn’t get any support on that either so sent the cameras back.

I still have about half a dozen Wemo devices and only control them via ST. Even then I am ready to replace them due to the occasional integration problem.

I should have given up on Wemo but I thought I’d give them another chance. Oh my. An overly optimistic wish on my part.

Level 2 help said they’d write a report. Oh my. Level two can write reports … it makes me wonder what level can offer help or fix things? I was promised a follow up to include said report. Two weeks and still waiting.

Android Play down graded the app from 2.4 to 2.2 out of 5 stars. How can an OEM get less than 3 stars? I think you have to work really, really hard to get that low of a score! They must be working overtime.

Anyone get this resolved? I just upgrade from the ST classic app to the new ST app (iphone) and now my many WEMO switches are not working with ST, works fine with the WEMO app. It seems to be an issue with ST not WEMO. The first time I turn on the WEMO switch from ST it turns on but it doesn’t show as turned on in the ST app. I noticed in the ST IDE for a WEMO device shows a checkInterval of 16270 s which I assume is seconds which is 4.5hrs. I tried to modify but was not able to, anyone know if this can be modified?

Nope, I had to replace all of my Wemo switches with z-wave.
Luckily they all sold on eBay…

uh whoa. So I just updated my router, so had to reset all my wemo thingies. And of course I noticed I couldn’t get anything to work from the new app.

Are wemo devices no longer supported at all?
