Welcome code for Smarthings hub v2

Hello, I purchased a 2nd hand v2 hub and I didn’t get the welcome code with it. Can someone help me with getting the code? My SN#3000262594 Thanks in advance @nayelyz @Itati

Hi, @EpicRain,
Welcome to SmartThings. The V2 hub is still a solid choice (I still use mine).
For a welcome code, you need to either contact the SmartThings help desk or tag one of the very helpful SmartThings staff on this forum.

@Itati. Sorry to jump on this thread, but I have a similar problem. Got a new phone and trying to connect my V2 hub, but can’t find the code card. Could you help me, please. Serial number is: 4000145599 Thanks Anke

Hi @Anke_Otto

I reviewed your Hub, and it appears as ‘CLAIMED.’ This means it is already installed on the SmartThings platform, and you won’t be able to claim it with another account. Here are some instructions to reset the Hub:

  1. Connect the Hub via ethernet
  2. Then, follow the steps to factory reset it. Here’s a link that has the instructions for different models:
Factory reset or reboot your SmartThings Hub

Please let me know once the reset is complete, and I’ll be happy to assist further.

Sorry, not trying to reclaim it. Just trying to get the app to show the local devices on my new samsung phone. Worked with other phones in the past. Maybe I am using the wrong email to connect… I’m worried that if I reset it I will lose all the local routines.

No worries at all, thanks for clarifying.

I’d recommend double-checking which email you used on your previous phone and making sure you log in with that same one on your new Samsung device. When switching to a new phone, it’s only necessary to log in with the correct email address, since all your data — including local devices and routines — is linked to that account.

And you’re right, doing a full reset could delete your local routines, so it’s best to try account verification steps first.
