I have a 2015 smart tv (Samsung Led 55 "). When I add it to the Smart Things app, I only have access to the cast option.
When I try to link ST to Google Home, it tells me that there is no device to add while the TV is on Smart Things. I guess you need a newer TV. How to make it compatible? For example to turn on and off the TV remotely.
Hey there! @Raphy123, Welcome to the Community! :slight_smile I’m sorry to hear that you are having issues with your TV, I’d be happy to look into your concerns. ST TV Compatibility varies by model and region when you mentioned that you only have the option to cast. Can you please elaborate further on if the device shows up in your list of devices in ST App or as a ‘Directly Connected Device’? As mentioned it varies by Model, Can you please provide me with the model code of the TV and the region you are located in?
The easiest way, you can look up the model number of your 2015 Samsung TV is in the TV menu options.
Go to settings Menu > Support > Contact Samsung > the Model Code field will show the TV model.
Useful information: Newer Samsung TV models from 2016 onwards use this pathway. Menu → Support → About this TV.
Additionally, If you have access to the back of the TV, you can see the model number of the TV on the information label.
I’d recommend checking to see if the Model code of the TV is listed as a supported model, You can do so using this troubleshooting article: Set up SmartThings on your Smart TV
If the model code does not populate under supported devices, you may need a 2018+ model TV to acheive the capabilities.
Hey there! @Raphy123, Thank you for providing me with the Region and your ‘Model Code’ to better assist you. I have a feeling that it is appearing under the Direct Connected Devices as a Bluetooth Connected Device, which directly connected devices do not allow for remote on/off functionality or the capability to be included in Automations or Scenes. If ‘UE55F6500SS’ does not appear under your supported devices list, it would not be able to be added to ST for remote control functionality.
The model that you have provided is an international device being used internationally.
We do not have the ability to support models outside of the US. There are differences between the US and International firmware, in which we do not have access to. As your product is a non-US model and support for these models is very limited, please seek a support team for your area. You can do so by using this link: Contactez-nous | Samsung FR | Samsung France
