I’m new to this whole smart home thing. I decided to take a (in my oppinion) big jump and went straight to getting a smartthings hub v3. I bought it of ebay brand new sealed box however straight away out of the box im having trouble .
As you can see i am clearly having trouble during connecting the hub to my smart things app. I’ve done countless factory resets and tried both wifi and ethernet. Im also confused why there is a solid blue light, when i looked at the question mark it only mentioned a flashing blue during installing software however the light is solid blue in my case (idk if this has any relevance but i think i should mention it just in case). Can anyone help me or does anyone have any suggestions on fixes?
Hub is claimed and connected to the network, but has no internet or server connection.
Make sure to check SmartThings status webpage to ensure that SmartThings cloud is operational. If it is, try swapping between WiFi and Ethernet.
Wondering if your hub was really NIB since it’s claimed or perhaps it got through the claim process before an error occurred? Can you ping your hub from another device on your network? Does your router show that the hub has been assigned an IP address?
Have also been working on this for hours! I started with wifi and made it to the final update step, but at different percentages it would give me a something went wrong error. I click retry, the % grows, then error comes back. Gets to 99% and then stuck there. I did the reset thing many times.
Switched to Ethernet and got stuck at an earlier step - error came up during the connection to Smart Things.
Have tried not using the QR code, starting on wifi and then plugging in Ethernet as seen in other posts, but no luck.
Hi, @Brian_9. Welcome to the SmartThings Community!
Do you get an error code when the installation isn’t successful? It can help us identify the type of issue.
I am having issues with mine suddenly blinking blue. I did the factory reset and now it is just stuck on blinking blue. It’s been days and hours of reattempting every steps with no luck. This is causing our family issues since we rely on the hub yo connect our smart home and devices.
