Did the replacement devices fix the LED issues you had? Was that the only issue remaining on your network?
I updated all my dz6hd to 1.2. It fixed a lot of issues, but created a new one. Very infrequent, but very annoying. Maybe once every 2 months, I have 1 switch that becomes “stuck”. And by stuck I mean, impossible to control it, whether physically or remotely (z-wave).
on/off/dimmer up/dimmer down, nothing works. The only way to bring it back to normal is a “reset”, ie power off/on. Can be done either throught the air gap or toggling the breaker.
So far 3 switches showed this issue.
I haven’t heard of anyone else encountering this however
I also get those lockups infrequently on the Leviton devices. Very annoying. I also have one switch that has stopped communicating with the hub. It’s been happening for a couple of weeks and I’ve not yet tried to resolve that issue.
i finally updated the firmware on my Leviton Z-wave switches.
Leviton loaned me a USB stick.
And sent me a link to download OTA-V12.
I wonder, is there a way to subscribe to notifications once even newer firmware gets released?
The new Inovelli switches support OTA updates. They are planning to release firmware updates twice a year. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them more often right now since they were just released. They seem really willing to work with Smartthings to get things working.
their switches support it, but the hub they are connected to (smartthings) do not. so there is not way to update them OTA unless you get a separate z-wave controller/hub.
I started this thread 2 years ago so don’t hold your breath. I think it’s highly unlikely that we will ever see OTA for Z-Wave in Smarthings. I bought the HomeSeer SmartStick and firmware updater software long ago as Samsung appears to be fully committed to Zigbee with their devices. IMO based on that alone they have zero incentive to support the firmware update feature for Z-Wave. Same goes for new local device handler support for Z-Wave devices.
@Paul_DeFeo Yes, of course, I have almost everything running locally using those generic device handlers. If you want the full functionality and customization of device handlers released by the hardware manufactures you are limited to those that have been released through the SmartThings firmware updates, or you can run them in the cloud. Same goes for any third party device handlers.
