I installed the Driver , but Smartthings do not find the Bridge. My Bridge ist connected to a repeater. Could that be the problem? Old LAN intergartion is working
Thanks Nezmo!
If it is unable to find the Hue hub, then it isn’t responding to mdns broadcasts. Many routers (Eero comes to mind) have features that block device discovery as a security measure. I would start by looking there in your router. If that doesn’t work, please capture a log and shoot it to me over DM.
Anyone having issues with motion sensors? I have 3 hue motions sensors 2 indoor and 1 outdoor. The outdoor works fine but the indoor keep telling me the can’t update it’s status ….any ideas ?? Besides that everything works great. Nice work.
The quickest, and most applicable solution to most of these is to restart the ST hub. This is only useful after install. It shouldn’t be needed after that point. For any other connection issues, the best way to get a resolution is to install the SmartThings CLI and capture a log file.
Install from this repo:
Run this command to get at your hub’s logs:
smartthings edge:drivers:logcat --hub-address=YOUR_ST_HUB_IP
It also occurred to me that you may have the device disabled. I would go into the Hue app and toggle it off and back on.
Yep that did the trick!! Toggling the sensor off then back on in hue app fixed it. Thanks for help
Awesome edge driver really enjoying this.
@blueyetisoftware I’ve noticed recently that temperature is not updating on my outdoor motion sensor. Everything else on the sensor is updating fine.
I finally took a look in the logs and see this:
2023-04-18T14:53:06.624203425+00:00 ERROR Philips Hue Beta notify callback error occurred [string "st/dispatcher.lua"]:233: Error encountered while processing event for <Device: 6e80bd45-1b29-4a14-bb35-d49be2d2e8b8 (Driveway Motion Sensor)>:

Perfect. This sounds similar to a few other people reporting temperature update issues. Based on that log, it looks like ST may now be requiring temperature units to be explicitly set. Can you verify your ST firmware version? I’ll take a look at this. Thanks for the log. Very useful.
My hub is on 47.1.
You bet. Thank you for your ongoing support.
It isn’t firmware related. They updated the temperature capability to make units a required field. Just didn’t bother to tell anyone I guess ![]()

Imagine that

Philips Hue Beta 2023-04-18.17.37.23.3
- Emits units along with value for the temperature capability in sensors. This addresses a ST platform update that now makes this a required piece of data.
@Nezmo Thanks again for the helpful log file.
@phammy0514 This likely addresses your earlier report as well.
Tested and I can confirm it’s working again.
Thanks!
Awesome!! All my sensors are reporting temperature now.
Thank you for a quick fix!!
Hey,
I am having a problem installing the hue edge drivers. I am following the instructions, have installed the drivers on my hub and can successfully search for and add the hue hub. Unfortunately when I click on the newly installed hue hub icon in the smarthings app it does not open anything so I cannot enroll my hub or access the settings.
I have tried everything I can think of. Leaving it for time. A hard reset of the hub and reinstalling everything without success.
Does anyone have any suggestions why this is happening to me?
Many thanks
Z
Sounds like an app bug with ST. I would clear the app cache or possibly the app data.
Managed to fix this by disconnecting my phone from the home WiFi and it worked. Not sure how that fixed it.
It probably caused the ST app to resync. Same idea as clearing the app cache. Glad you got it to turn over ![]()
Hi. My Hue hub is now showing the in the Smartthings app but it just says “Connected” there’s no option to link it or anything else. Any ideas?
