Yes I have three. The first two I set up over a year ago no problem. One these first two is working just fine, the second is stuck in a boot loop for no known reason, just found it like that one day. The third is a spare new one I had laying around and I am now trying but repeatedly failing to set up to replace the second on that is stuck in the boot loop.
The skytag suitcase issue was a temporary android app glitch that occurred when I scanned the QR code on all three of the sensors. That has now resolved.
@Tarikbel1 what firmware does your working sensor have? My single working sensor is on 2.9-CU070611
I have even taken the step to contact goertek given the smartthings team and Samsung are ghosting me and not providing any support for the product they have sold.
All my vison sensors are using Firmware version (2.9-CU070611)
I ve tried to disassemble one of them looking for any pins or eprom to flash but i think there is no luck in this way.
For the other one when the procces of pairing it get stucked exactly ? You can see the Sensorâs AP Wifi ?
It always fails when registering to cloud/smartthings account. It connects to my network and communicates with the internet, Iâve checked this on my router.
I thought maybe there was serial port access or something like that over the USB.
@nayelyz @Luis_Humberto_Medina could I please get some help with this, or at least direct me to someone who has the time and can help me?
@nayelyz @Luis_Humberto_Medina well I was stupid enough to purchase a fourth vision sensor off eBay, brand new in box, never opened, serial number only 4 digits after the third I havenât been able to pair to my smartthings account. I was hoping maybe there was just some random issue with the third vision sensor and this fourth would miraculously work. I was wrong. Iâm having the exact same issue with the fourth brand new sensor not being able to pair to my smartthings account. This is most definitely a server side issue and I can only guess that the firmware on these sensors straight out the box brand new, is older than on my one sensor that has been working for a couple years. I would really like some help fixing this, over two months without a resolution or support from a team member is pretty frustrating and disheartening towards the whole smartthings ecosystem.
Hi @slgalvin,
Sorry for the late response. We have reviewed your issue and itâs been escalated for further investigation. The case is currently being handled by customer support, if you want to know more about the status please contact customer support.
Thanks for the update. Hopefully we can figure this out. It would be a shame for these vision sensors to go in the bin when there is nothing wrong with them, and they are the most useful SmartThings sensor I have used. Other than going through the Samsung members app to request support, which is a horrendously terrible experience with a distinct lack of consistent follow through since you end up getting different people respond everytime, is there a more direct and reliable way to liaise with customer support?
@Luis_Humberto_Medina how long does it usually take the support team to get back to people, itâs taking a long time.
Hi @slgalvin !
I will see what I can do to assist you further, but for now, the only information I have for contacting support in Australia is to scroll down past the help articles on this page and find the âContact Infoâ section with various contact options.
Well after a very long wait and no confirmation that anything has been fixed, I decided to dust off the sensors and try set them up again. So far so good. Iâve got one to set up first try, itâs firmware is way out of date so Iâm leaving it to update before I attempt the second sensor. Hopefully this is finally a fix for good.
Definitely fixed, both of the new vision sensors I have been unable to set up in recent months, were added to SmartThings without issue. Both running firmware version 1.7 out of the box, and updated to 2.9 after a couple of hours to actually work properly and display a video feed.
Did you ever get device working? I mean the one that had âbootloopâ symptoms, and green blinking light.
I have the exact same problem.
TY!
Nah, I never fixed it, no amount of factory resets would solve it. I reached out the samjin to see if they could help since they manufacture them but they never replied. Poor design really, and it went to landfill in the end.
Just like one of my smartthings wifi routers/hub, it ended up in a boot loop with flashing green light and would never initialise after multiple factory resets and there doesnât appear to be a way to manually flash firmware to recover them either, so it also went to landfill.
It disgusts me how disposable these electronics are and the impact they have on the environment when you canât fix them yourself with a simple firmware reflash.
Thanks for quick answer.
I cant even reset mine.
Device never goes to pairing mode (green/red blink cycle).
Pressing âfunctionâ does nothing anymore.
From boot it just goes 5sec solid green â blinking green forever
I feel like 100eur for this sensor is outrageous price.
Just makes you think how much are you going to pay for product like this.
Samsung customer support offered me 10% discount coupon for next purchase. They didnât even consider helping to fix it.
