SmartThings/Samsung Account Migration Beta

If we already have a Samsung account will the switchover be transparent with a notification of some means? Or will a new account be automatically created then us users will need to figure out how to merge and delete redundant accounts?

I have no idea what account I have for my Smartthings.

I had a Samsung account for the health app for over a year on my Galaxy phone prior to getting SmartThings. My SmartThings I put online the first time on 5/24/17.

How can I tell for sure?

When I sign into IDE first I get the SmartThings login which just has the box for the username (email address) and a next button, but no password box. Then when you click the next button you have the Samsung account login with the box for username and the box for password and the sign in button.

What do I have?

I think that means you have a Samsung account already, and NOT a Smartthings account.

No, this won’t touch your SmartThings setup at all.

It’s a little of both. We will merge accounts, but it won’t be transparent. You will need to take an action to start the migration.

What Tyler said, it’s a migration, so your setup will be intact, you’re basically just changing the authority who authenticates your identity.

When I try to sign up, it asks me for my address. I cannot pick a Danish one. Please make it possible for all Europeans, not just UK, to participate.

Pretty sure he meant account.smartthings.com and maybe the ST app

@slagle I gave the wrong email for my hub when I signed up :roll_eyes: it doesn’t give any options to change it, how do I change it?

I didn’t even realize that. Now that I look, you are correct it seems that there is no way to change your email address in the app or in the IDE. Did you open a ticket with support?

Are you referring to ST hub/IDE or Centercode for the account migration beta?

I believe you can change it yourself when you log in to centercode. If you go to the left-hand menu there are two options under Personal Profiles: Account Settings (which is your centercode account) and My Profile: then Member Profile (which is the info for the ST project)

Doesn’t give me any options only this page.
