SmartThings Labs

@foneguy2 Sorry for the trouble. This is a known issue we’re working on, but generally if you try enough times in the app or try deleting them via the IDE they will eventually. If you still can’t get them deleted, please reach out to support@smartthings.com and they should be able to get you sorted out.

@Emily : Thanks I submitted a ticket a while ago but have not heard anything yet. Can you give any directions on how I could delete this myself?

You can try logging in here with your SmartThings credentials:

https://graph.api.smartthings.com/

Then click Locations–>your location name–>List SmartApps–edit and try to uninstall them from there.

Thanks Emily - I was able to remove 2 of the 3 Sonos Connect apps. Clicking Uninstall on the last one does not do anything - no response / error message. When trying to uninstall from the ios app, I get a new? message: Device still in use: Remove from SmartApps, Dashboards, or Hello Home, then try again… So close

Thanks Emily - Support was able to delete the final Sonos entry but didn’t tell me how they did it.

Can’t get insight to sho up either

I just got a new Hue set. When I try to add the Hue SmartApp I get stuck at the press the button on the bridge step. It never seems to see that I’ve pressed the button. Any trick to it I’m missing?

Only thing I can thing of is that the hue hub and ST hub are on same network - which I’m sure they are. I was able to get mine to work - sorry not much help.

I’ve got 4 WeMo devices connected to my hub. 2 switches and 2 motion sensors. Up until 3 days ago everything worked fine. Now the motion sensors don’t update but the switches work fine. The motion sensors work and update fine in the WeMo app but not in the ST app.

At first I thought it was just an update issue but they don’t seem to trigger events I’ve defined in the smart apps they are assigned to.

Anyone else have this issue or is there anything I should try to get them working again.

I got my Hue going. After reading through the support FAQ on the Hue site, I learned that the firmware update won’t show up immediately. I rebooted my hub and it updated. Then I was able to link with SmartThings. Now we just need to be able to set a color and dimmer setting in the switch selection interface in SmartApps.

In the meantime you can control hue via ST… Via IFTTT. I think. I need to try it and post back.

What will the process be going forward when the “labs” projects are no longer in beta but are fully released? Will they be integrated into the main app the same way zig bee and z-wave devices are implemented or will there still be “apps” that control them as is currently the case for Hue, Sonos and WeMo Connect?

Anyone have any luck adding a new Hue bulb after the initial setup? I can go back to the bulb selection in the Hue Connect app, it says searching for bulbs, but the new bulb never shows up.

@Alex Christensen I’m having the same issue right now. I know it’s still in development though. I hope I don’t have to delete the hue bridge and bulbs and readd them to ST

I just added a Hue hub and 3 bulbs to my setup. The properties page allows you to set a specific color using the standard color wheel. Is it possible to also pick a white color temp like you can in the hue app?

Also… Is it possible to control a group of Hue bulbs with a single control from the Things page? I created a group by dragging a device on to another but tapping the group only opens it. All 3 Hue bulbs are lighting a single room and I’d like the ability to turn them all on or off with a single control. Any suggestions on how I might do this?

@joe. Try Big Turn On app.
Is that what you mean?

@foneguy2 Thanks for the suggestion. The Big Turn On and Big Turn Off will work but I have to create 2 separate apps and access it from the Apps page. If I group them in the Things page it would be nice to toggle the group’s switches on or off from there too without having to go to the Apps page. Currently you can only name, delete, see activity or change a group’s appearance.

I wonder if you could create a Device that would do that in the IDE.

@joegeiger,

Take a look at my better virtual dimmer device and dim with me app. I think you could expand these to use a virtual device to control a group of hue bulbs.

Twack

@twack

Thanks for the link. I think this might work.

@joegeiger On the dashboard, under the settings for lights section if you select “add new light/switch,” you can use existing lights to create a group. Just name the light whatever you’d name the light group, hit next, click “choose devices” and select all the lights you want in the group.

I will warn you that at some point after I did this, my hue bulbs became unresponsive and I had to delete the hue (connect) app and re-install it to get them to work again. I don’t know if this was a fluke or a result of the group, but I thought you should have all of details.
