about 3 years ago, for sure on or after 2021, I had it connected and it was working fine. and i tried the hard reset many times with these alternating lights blinking
okay, that rules out the firmware update in 2018⦠yippie! But I am clueless so unless other forum members can step in and offer any advice⦠I say try ST support again.
If the hub was last used around 2021 or later that seems late enough to rule out some of the weirder firmware stuff or the migration to Samsung accounts.
Given the model number, it is the first version of the V2 (2015) hub and it seems to be happily connecting to the SmartThings cloud and sounding suspiciously like it is claimed. Unless it was actually removed from the previous Samsung/SmartThings account then it would be.
It might be helpful if you could describe the process you tried to install the hub into the app as you should be able to get as far as entering a Welcome Code without actually having a hub to install, let alone plugged in correctly.
One flow is:
- +Add device
- Partner devices [Add]
- SmartThings
- Smart Home Hub
- [Add without QR code] (at bottom)
- [Canāt find device] (at bottom)
- SmartThings Hub (STH-ETH)
- Select Location and Room
- [Next]
- Enter Welcome Code [Register the hub]
If you enter a valid code at that state then you should be informed if it is already claimed by someone else.
