well, I would like to say congratulations to you for actually getting support to DM you a code.
I on the other hand: August 25? 2025 .. everything quit. Did all the usual reboot, shut down, start fresh etc. AND on this forum all I kept seeing was “remove and reinstall” hub from app. NO-ONE said that having done that … removes all connected devices; requires an activation code to get HUB to connect.
My devices are old enough there are no qr’s or codes on the bottom.
I wrote an email to support : got a reply back 3-4 days later to send a photo of bottom of hub. Well, guess what?; you can not reply to the response as the support writes to you on a no reply email address. THIS means when you do reply it goes to support like a starter question: get new support person; and even though photo was attached to the email that they are now replying to– they too ask you to send a copy of the bottom of hub.
Each time a new “ticket” an a new “support” person; always a no reply email. I tried for well over 6 weeks.
Gave up!
Looked into other hubs to replace this and phase out all “dumbthings samsung”.
Well, before that had actually occurred … while cleaning out a storage area we found the original box … and in it was a written code (now on a sticker on bottom of hub).
I spent 5 hours; doing a full factory reset on hub; as it would NOT just connect even with the code. Then doing firmware updates. Then connecting each device one a time. Each have to be reset as they had been connected once before (same hub but obviously foreign to it after reset). After all this time ….
Everything working perfectly when we went to bed. I only created ONE automation: a verbal / button to turn off all lights. Well, every few hours random lights come on or once on turn off … this is still occurring 24 hours a day.
When I wake … I go into app and turn everything off individually. Next time I wake; same bs.
Then after 36 hours 2 of our main lights : listed as offline; and nothing I do is putting them back online ….. suggested delete and reinstall.
Even though we have had smart devices, lights, switches, motion sensors, plugs, etc since 2018 … THIS last few months has been nothing but a headache.
I am again (even though I have a somewhat functioning hub) on the search for a REAL WORKING hub; with a company that has actual support. This experience is enough I will likely never buy anything samsung again.
