Some interesting news out of Samsung Unpacked today. Ambient sensing is coming to SmartThings. It looks like a way for SmartThings to automatically perform automations around your house. It also runs local on your hub. But its light on details about how it’s doing the sensing, other than mentioning the Music Frame can detect audio. Will be interesting to see what comes on this. Would be cool if it can propose automations based on your daily life.

Totally agree: another intrusion into our lives. I can’t count the number of times I’ve said, “No!” to Alexa when she proposes something she “can to to make your life easier!” 
I worry about the virtual devices that their purposes only make sense to me, or when visually displayed in a super tile on Sharptools.
With AI in general this is a huge concern.
