I have smartthings hub and sensors. I used to get notifications on the app when doors open close motion etc. Now I do not. I called Samsung apparently that’s not something they do anymore???
Is there a way to get notifications from the app when sensors do things?
If not is there a different app/ system to pair them with?
I’ve tried contacting Samsung. I’ve tried reading the forums. Honestly I don’t understand what people are saying. I don’t know platforms or ifft meaning or any of this gibberish. So if you could respond as if I’m technology illiterate because I basically am at this point. Thank you in advance.
What country do you live in? In this case, it does make a difference because there is some slightly different notification features in different regions.
Since I am in North America, I have the option to either send an app notification or a text message.
This does require setting up an individual “routine” in the smartthings app for every sensor that I want to notification for. it’s a lot of effort, but it does work.
Was that enough information for now or did you need more details about how to create routines in the smartthings app?
If This change just happened in the last few days, it’s also possible that you ran into a different problem, and your sensors were automatically transitioned to a edge driver which didn’t know what to do with them. That has been affecting a lot of people just recently. In particular, some people said that they were getting notifications for temperature, but not for motion, for example. Is this something that just started happening? Or has it been going on for a little while?

Like was asked by JDR roughly when did this start as that will help determine if they have been moved to an Edge driver which is causing a problem that this is just a symptom of.
Also any permission changes to the app on your phone?
