I just got an email from one of my support tickets that said they are still working on it.
Iād like to see my smoke detectors listed in the right now status screen. The only place to see what detectors itās monitoring is in the configuration, which if set to āallā really doesnāt tell you anything. You just have to hope itās using all of your smoke detectors correctly.
Just had a horrible experience with Smart Home Monitor. Yes you are supposed to configure the routines to arm / disarm the security monitor: āgoodbyeā --> arm, āIām back --> disarmā.
Arming works, disarming doesnāt ⦠each time I/my wife would come back home, the alarm would turn on
Check out the log: @ 4PM: performing āIām back!ā for you as requestedā¦I changed the mode from Away to Home⦠I turned off the security system" ⦠yet at 4.01PM: āfront door Intrusion detectedā ⦠the alarm blasts.
I then open the app: stop the alarm, make sure the mode is home, observe that the smart home monitor security is disarmed and finally dismiss the incident. Then ⦠motion detected!, and we start again, alarm blasting in the house.
I luckily was able to uninstall the smart home monitor security. Iām back to using another smart app with my alarm that works much better.
I think the smart home monitor SW has bypassed a lot of QA steps. Will look again into it in a few months⦠quite shameful.
This is a known issue in combination with mobile presence atleast. I have a ticket open and support is working on this as far as I know. I have had it happen to me and my missus couple of times even though the presence is detected well in advance. We have decided to keep the alarms out of equation for the time being till things settle down.
As such just for your I am back routine where it disarms in your app, pretend you are reconfiguring and click āDoneā! This helps most of the time if your mobile presence is solid. Fortunately mine is.
I just had this happen to me and itās not the first time. I previously wrote to support and I will be updating them.
I uninstalled the security portion because even though the SHM is disarmed it keeps setting off the siren.
Hey, create a routine to turn alarms off and also set that to automatically trigger once your presence is detected. So, if you donāt want to remove the alarms, at least you can click the routine to turn alarms off or if you have a solid presence, the sirens will be off even though āI am backā didnāt trigger.
As for me, sirens are out for the time being!
I donāt see the option to turn the siren off in routines. But yes I agree it should be there.

thanks smart! Didnāt notice it in the switches!
Alarms appear under lights and switches! Go figure! It does work though! Try it when family is there!
I was just coming in here to complain about the same thing. Fortunately I donāt have a siren hooked up. My wife got home, I saw the alert on my phone that it performed the Iām back routine based on her presence. I even texted her and told her the alarm disabled, and she texted back she was still in the car! 3 min later my phone goes nuts with the alarm notifications. I cleared it, SHM showed that it was disarmed (from when the original routine ran), but then 2 min later I get more intrusion alarms. It wouldnāt stop setting them off until I armed and disarmed again manually. The presence part seems to work fine, but the routine didnāt fully disable the alarm, even though the SHM showed it was disarmed.
Is everything broken in ST right now? It is getting ridiculous.
I ran into the same issue over the weekend. Went away. Had someone watching feeding the fish and cat. I shut off smart alarm before they arrived. Confirmed through ST app. Got an alert on my phone and then a call the siren was going off. Had to go into alerts to shut off siren. Disarming alarm did no good. Happened again when she left even though i Never re-armed the system. UGH
Stopped using Smart Home Monitor and went back to smart alarm.
Every time I make a change to my āsecurityā apps (Smart Alarm before and now Smart Home Monitor)- I always run a week or two with only the strobe active (I have the FortrezZ Siren) - just for this reason. Thereās nothing like getting that phone call from my wife where I hear the siren blaring in the backgroundā¦
I donāt see anything on my dash including SHM. I reached out to support and received no response.
Is there a way to uninstall an item in the SHM? I accidentally add the Security into SHM. When I tried to uninstall it, it said that it canāt be undone.
You should contact support
I also do not have this feature in my app. I have already reached out to support.
It appears that the SHM state is not syncing with that on the IDE. At least that is an issue Iām having, on the new UI on iOS. Iām not exactly sure which is driving the specific actionsā¦
Did you report it to support? This helps them set the priority. I know they are swamped right now but I keep reporting the issues.
