I used to be able to check my Schlage lock battery levels through the app but no whenever I click on any device it gives me the loading and then never does anything. Literally all I can do with my devices now is trigger them
What driver are you using for your locks?
What do you mean by driver?
A driver is a small bit of software that tells your hub how to transmit/receive messages for your device. It also provides instructions for handling commands and events for a device. In the original architecture, they were called Device Type Handlers (DTH) and ran in the ST cloud and in the new architecture they are called Edge drivers and run locally on your hub. ST transitioned devices from DTH to Edge drivers during 2023 and completed the transition late last year. During that time, ST would have transitioned your lock to one of their stock Edge drivers that provides basic functionality for locks, but won’t necessarily support advanced settings and features available for different manufacturers’ locks. There is also the possibility that your lock was not properly transitioned and ended up with a generic Z-Wave Thing driver. To learn more about the Edge architecture, check out this topic.
For Schlage, there are a couple of community developed Edge drivers that support the additional settings and features of specific Schlage models. You can verify whether you are using a stock driver or which community driver you are using through the device info in the mobile app, the ST Advanced Web App, or the community developed API Browser+. You can also use those tools to change to different drivers once you have loaded them on your hub.
There are two popular community developed drivers [ST EDGE] Z-Wave Lock PH - Devices & Integrations / Community Created Device Types - SmartThings Community and [EDGE] Universal Enhanced Z-Wave Lock Driver for Schlage, Yale, Kwikset, IDLock, Popp, Danalock, August Pro, Keywe, Philia, Samsung. The first one is available for no fee. The second one has both a no fee and fee version (which provides more advanced features). Those topics contain links to the developer’s driver channel where you can subscribe your hub and install one or more of their drivers.
Thank You very much. I went through the first route and that fixed it. You were correct I was still under the generic Z-Wave drivers and the Phillh30 set up worked
